History:

Second daughter of a couple all-too young to know what do to with their children, Luminita grew up in the care of a her great-uncle - "Papa" - alongside her older brother. Born nearly entirely deaf, Luminita underwent surgery for her cochlear implant at age three; the stress of the new sensations and procedure itself leaving Luminita averse to these medical visits - a decision only solidified after receiving her augments at ten. Luminita and her brother Radu both grew up rather quiet children, mostly mingling between themselves. Both proved to rather capable in the academic department; though regular attendance with a full stomach was nigh impossible, both of the children had a brain for the sciences. Papa encouraged their growth as much as he was able, using his rare free time to answer any questions their curious minds could conjure up.

 

While Radu devoured the knowledge he was able to find, Luminita more idly enjoyed following down rabbitholes her interests led her to. Her school grades would come to prove passable, but nothing to write home about. Decent grades helped her find a decent job in a decidedly competitive market, though the scraps she was able to cobble together quickly fell back into circulation with repairing the continually decaying house her family lived in. After struggling with the results of a home invasion her late teens, Luminita effectively had to rebuild from the ground up. What little items they would pawn off when necessary were gone, as were a number of personal affections that were adored. Radu, now overloaded with debt while attempting to attend college, had his grades falter while focusing on work to get them somewhere stable again. The two of them worked to balance their multiple jobs, Papa having been fervent in his disapproval of the criminal lives so prevalent in their hometown, and eventually had enough money saved to move into a smaller apartment complex. It was dingy and dirty, but the locks were fitted with (presumably) reliable biometric authentification and the stovetop worked. Mostly.

 

Come her twenty-fourth birthday, Luminita landed a with a local construction company. Nothing exciting - and not with a major company - but it paid more than her odd-jobs and she was content with that. To celebrate, Radu went out to the wilderness and caught his sister a new companion - a little Poochyena she'd named Emerson, and subsequently a simple little bracelet he'd found at a secondhand shop. Later that same year, he had good news for himself - he was accepted for an internship for a biosecurity agency in Grovehart. He was prepared to offer up his nest egg, but Luminita declined, encouraging him to put it towards his education. Since then, Luminita's lived at home with her Papa and become the primary earner for their home. With the introduction of The Nothing, the pressure on her only grew stronger - Brookfell wasn't a place people eagerly sought out, and now that movement between the cities for business proving dangerous and stunting the local economy, not many people wanted to start up on new constructions either.
