Theme: TRAILS - DISINTER MY HEART
Nori was a street rat, grown up in the back alleys of Brookfell- where even the worst of the worst seemed better off. Abandoned at a young age Nori turned their attention to stealing and pickpocketing to make ends meet. They were alone in the world- not even a pokemon to protect them. That is, until one fateful day they were picked up with a promise of some credits and a meal. Nori was small, and agile- a perfect advantage. Their task was simple. Sneak into the vents of the club room and release a pokeball into the room. From it, a pokemon would emerge and cause nothing but trouble. After that? Get away and stay away until someone would come and get them. For a young Nori, this seemed simple enough. In the vents they went, crawling when even the vent got too hot or when it seemed to squeeze their small child body- only barely being able to make it through. On the other side was a big room with dozens of pokemon captured in small carriers- tech making sure they were well enough sedated to the point where they couldn't fight their way out. Nori threw the pokeball and out emerged a big Electrode- they weren't dumb. They knew what an Electrode would be sent to do. They doubted any of these pokemon would come out alive-- but that wasn't any of their concern. Still- as they heard the Electrode rolling behind it and as they turned to leave, Nori had come across a small Noibat with a scar over one of its eyes in one of the cages. Something... struck-- and Nori opened its cage and crawled their way out again. At least one pokemon would have a chance to get out.
Not long after, after Nori had emerged from the vents again- they heard the explosion of the self-destruct- and ran. It had been days, if not a week before Nori had gotten their payment. Stale bread and about twenty credits- enough to maybe buy another meal for a day. But to them? That was like being given a gift from Arceus. Eager- Nori asked for more jobs. Started tailing the group that had hired them- wanting to learn more- wanting to get more. And so they took them in. As Nori grew, so did their skill, and they became a proficient spy and assassin. Tech walls and encryption proved no hard feat for them to locate their targets- even more so with installed Cyberware and prosthetics. Disguises were worn like a second skin, and it soon got to a point where no one even knew Nori's real appearance anymore. They never did see that Noibat again, at least not for several years. It had turned out that the room they had infiltrated contained pokemon as 'stock' for sale. For food, for use, for battle- they didn't know. But- death seemed a kinder fate. That's at least what Nori convinced themselves of.
The Noibat eventually reappeared in front of Nori as they had been eating some instant noodles at the top of one of Brookfell's buildings. It had flown up, cooing quietly at the sight of them- and Nori had frozen. They had kept their distance from Pokemon, not interested in any partnerships or pets to keep around. They worked better solo. But this Noibat, after years, as if it had never changed- had found them. Even after months of trying to get it to leave- it wouldn't. Eventually, Nori gave in and allowed it to stay- sharing what little credits they made to provide food for it and going as far as naming it. It joined them in missions- staying out on the dangerous ones, and provided both company and assistance when Nori needed it.
When the Nera Outbreak occurred, Nori had already laid low for several years- doing the smallest jobs that paid decent so that they would have something to eat. After, though, they found that the drive for information skyrocketed. Information about what happened, the Nera, the fusions, the power- everything. Nori was enticed by the offers- and it didn't take long before they took the bait. Their list is filled with all sorts of jobs, taking them from Brookfell to all other areas-- even Sylvangloam.
Appearance:
Nori is of a slender build, mostly due to their lack of nutrients in their upbringing. It works to their advantage though. Their skin is pale compared to the sands of Brookfell, and their hair jet black with shaved sides. Along the sides of their head run two lines of cybernetics and their TD is located in the middle of their forehead- with the circle smack in the middle and a line on each side next to their brows. Obviously, due to their hacked TD, they sometimes try to cover it when possible with a bandana of sorts in public. Their eyes can turn into a spectrum of colours due to being cybernetic, but they usually prefer to go with a bright amber. Clothes-wise, Nori tends to wear tightfitting but stretching materials. It makes less noise and conceals what they don't want people to see. Usually they do wear a bulkier jacket, however. It has several pocket compartments on the inside, filled with equipment should they need it in pursuits.
Trivia:
- While Nori isn't their true name, it is their chosen name after the delicious seaweed that they used to fill themselves up as a child. All clients will know them by this name and this name only.
- Nori is AFAB, though has had surgery with their scars being one of the only things still visible on their body.
- Many claim that they don't even know if Nori is still human- judging by the amount of cybernetics they had installed over the years.
- The Noibat, ----, is the only one Nori has let close.
- Nori is very skilled in the art of retrieving data from targets and objects. They use their terrain when needed for actual combat, preferring an assassin style of fighting versus throwing punches and kicks. They don't call themselves a hacker, because their target is most likely humanoid or pokemon- not data.
- Even though Nori is skilled, in order to keep up with the competition they work in quantity. Individual jobs are cheap- but they work like a dog and are loyal to their client as one.
- A lot of information on Nori has been lost or corrupted, due to them targeting any files that have information on them while working, leaving a lot up to estimates and speculations.
- In their free time, Nori is often found high up on rooftops.
