History: The second oldest of the family, Amelia banded together with her siblings in a tight-knit family group that excluded their contentedly absent parents. She was often referred to as the prodigy child growing up, understanding concepts and ideas with ease while showing off her natural talents in her schoolwork. Her older sibling was mostly proud of her, with the exception of a few spiteful hiccups along the way. Younger siblings looked up to her, and would often come to her for help with homework throughout the years. Despite her growing interest in the study of pokemon and how they wield the elements, she kept her focus on book studies, feeling that she couldn't quite keep up with everything whilst caring for another living creature; at least, one that wasn't her brothers or sister. When she was a teenager, however, a strange incident quickly changed her mind.
Walking home late from an after-school club one night, Amelia stumbled upon a drunken pair harassing a muzzled and tied-up Furfrou. Despite the muzzle, one person had obviously been bitten, and was cradling their hand close to their chest while sparing occasional kicks at the pokemon. Staying out of sight, Amelia waited for the pair to distract each other. Once their attention had left the muzzled Furfrou, she made her way to the pokemon and whispered reassurances as she removed the leash and muzzle. Like a spring from a trap, the furious beast lunged and chased after its attackers, who were so surprised by the sudden chase that they took no notice of the student. She hurried home for the night, strangely happy with how the situation ended.
The next morning, Amelia planned on leaving early to help ready some of the school equipment. She opened the door to find the scrawny, ragged Furfrou asleep at their front door, having apparently tracked her scent after dealing with its previous captors. She took her in immediately, which caused quite a few ripples in the family dynamic. The newly-named Georgette wasn't fond of being pet--or touched at all for that matter-- and sank her teeth into quite a few people over the years.
After graduation, Amelia quickly pursued higher studies. She focused on pokemon biology, and was on track to become a professor when she was blindsided by one of her most trusted friends. Her student mentor at the academy, on track to graduate before Amelia, stole her thesis project, going out of his way with embellishments that would convince anyone that the ideas sprang from him, nowhere else. Frustrated and hurt, Amelia searched for something bigger, something better! Something that would make everyone forget her mentor's version of her thesis. Well, she certainly found a topic that would generate buzz. When she presented her new topic, complete with formatted research notes and photos, she was immediately reprimanded for such dubious research. The professors scolded her for potentially harmful experimentation, and with their zero tolerance policy, she was quickly thrown out.
Frustrated once again, and left with fewer options, Amelia took to Brookfell, where she had been living in a depressive spiral until the Nera Breakout. Seeing hybridized pokemon opening new possibilities for elemental research, the self-proclaimed researcher gained a new spark of motivation. There were so many new things to find out! New possibilities to explore! And in Brookfell, nobody was going to care if her research got..."dubious". What a great fresh start...
