Azariah grew up in a Rivertide orphanage from as far back as he can remember. While it seemed normal on the outside, as Azariah stayed longer, the rules became more and more strict. For a while, Azariah tried to stay in line, being a generally well-behaved and sociable kid. He sat through the preachings about Arceus quietly. However, this changed when he befriended a Liepard that hung around the orphanage, many starting to avoid him afterwards. The feline had been known for its aggression and distrust towards humans, but that didn't stop Azariah from following it around. However, the loneliness that soon followed sparked a defiant stage in him, and he drew the attention of the unsavory Pokemon that had been residing underneath the orphanage. Before he knew it, he had been dragged to the underground grotto and pulled into the murky waters by a Malamar. The Pokemon had grabbed hold of his right arm, and the blinding agony that followed suit was inescapable. The only reason he had managed to escape was the Liepard, making quick work of the Malamar. At the time, the Liepard fused with a Malamar Nera. After this, the now fused Pokemon took a back exit out of the building, dragging Azariah into the streets of Rivertide. This evidently got the attention of a mortified crowd. While he was taken to the hospital swiftly, there was nothing they could do about his arm, and he ended up having to get it amputated due to the infection that set in from Malamar's acid. After this, he moved to Brookfell, living on the backalleys and learning from various hackers and a netrunner. Azariah quickly made a name for himself, taking on a number of jobs. He was able to get a prosthetic and acquired a hacked TD, though his good fortune didn't last. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time, Azariah unwillingly fused with a Spiritomb Nera. On top of the Nera causing him to fall ill, it truly seemed like one of the worst he could have fused with. Azariah started getting light sensitivity and migraines, and the buzzing in his ears only seemed to grow louder the darker it got. And when he was exposed to total darkness, the wave of terrifying emotions from the spirits caused him to panic, permanently fusing with the Nera.
