John Rank Up | Feeding a Noibat

John always had a way with Pokemon- there was a reason that his house was filled to the brim with them. Ones that had been abandoned, ones that simply found there way inside- any and every pokemon that came through his doors would get his love and care until the day that they were ready to go home with a new trainer or go on their own adventure. Sometimes though, even if a pokemon was there they would be difficult to take care of. This was the case with this one particular little Noibat fusion that had hopped their way into his home. 

 

It wouldn't no matter what John tried, eat. 

 

He'd offer it pokepuffs, he'd offer it your classic pokemon kibble, he'd even offer it the most expensive pokemon kibble that could be bought with credits but they looked just... immensely sad at all of it.  He'd bought puff pastries, he bought bones, he bought jerky treats- he was trying everything he could but he was at his wits end. They wanted none of it. The only thing that they seemingly did want to eat was the curry that John made the night before. Something that the Noibat most definitely could not eat. "Noi. Beloved, little Noi." John said as he reached down to pick up the little bat. They also, as it so happened, seemed to look sad when he would pick them up. "What am I going to do with you... You're going to wither away like this." 

 

The pokemon didn't respond, it just stared at him longer until John sighed and put them back down. It wanted curry, but couldn't have that curry so he thought long and hard about it. Maybe he could make a second batch? One that was Pokemon safe and he could try to feed him together. Have them think they were eating his curry, but in reality they'd be eating the pokemon safe curry! It wouldn't be that hard. 

 

John got to work instantly. Noi wanted to join him in the kitchen but everytime the little bat waddled in with the mask he quickly shooed them out. They seemed quite smart so if they saw him making two curries they might very well realize what is happening and refuse what he is fed. As such, John kept him outside the kitchen until it was finished. 

 

While not usually one for fanfare when it came to feeding a pokemon he set up a little plate at the table. A small set of silverware, a small napkin- he had a perfect little set up for the pokemon and served up the pokemon curry upon it. As it was ready he brought Noi in and set them up Infront of their plate while he sat down at his own. "Bon Appetit?" 

 

Much to his relief, the pokemon did seem excited and for the first time in days, they had a bite of food. John's stress melted away the moment that they had some of the curry and they didn't seem to suspect anything. They took one bite, then another, and John let out a breath. Good... Very good.
