The Well-Intentioned and the Stubborn

Umbra

The day was muddy to say the least, the humid air rose from the dust of the rings and Aeson traveled his way toward the inner circles, this was around the areas that the running of the Tauros, or Catastauros, happened and he wanted to get a good look at it. Despite his usual police nature, he wasn’t in uniform for once, and perhaps this day he could turn his blind eye to certain crimes. He wouldn’t put up with others trying to endanger each other - not that he would fully stop them. It would be suicide to try to do so in a large crowd. But he would also step into the fray to try and help them.
His gaze slid down to his pokemon beside him, using one hand to ruffle the fur up between his ears with a happy smile of his own. “You ready to see the Tauros today bud?” he asked the pokemon affectionately. Knight let out a ruff of a noise, his tail wagging back and forth and his eyes being bright and ready to watch the chaos. Thank goodness winter was over at least and it would be getting back to the usual temperatures they were used to.
Usually not venturing too far into the lower rings, he had investigated them a while, after all he did get done with a case not that long ago that left him and Knight injured, they were still feeling some of the soreness from it. “Let’s try to stay out of the Tauros’ path if we can, huh bud?”
He figured the bark was an agreement, and he patted Knight anyway, finally coming upon the crowd that seemed to already be cheering loudly. “Huh, guess they already started the event. Well let’s hope we’re not too late.” He did use his manners, getting around a few who were nice enough that didn’t mind to let him through with his pokemon. He was soon standing beside a blue-haired female, but he didn’t pay too much mind to her, as his eyes focused on the paths.

The woman in question, electric blue hair and a roughly-patched canvas vest, looked up the blocked-off street, and then she scanned down the road. The crowd was....equally dense in both directions. The bridge she would usually take, to cross over this particular sunken road? Absolutely jam-packed like a school of Wishiwashi in a tin. She heaved a collossal sigh of exasperation, staring at the sky.

"Argo," she declared aloud, although to who it was unclear, "why did I ever offer to help? This is the absolute worst day. Why. Why."

Umbra
Aeson seemed occupied with the Tauros that stampeded through, ground quaking under their thundering hooves and pebbles skidding. The laughter and screams gained his attention, but none were in distress. With a sigh, he soon turned his gaze down toward the female that spoke a moment. HE usually wasn't one to... well eavesdrop on conversations, but sometimes his ears just picked up on it, against his will mind you.

Knight looked to him and then turned his blue eyes onto the woman, his ears perked but he let out a near quiet whine. It was alright though, wasn't it? Even if she did smell different a bit, they both knew how to handle themselves, right?

"Did you need help with something?" Aeson spoke directly to the female.

"Did- Did I need help with something?" Myra looked the taller man over appraisingly. A mohawk, with that outfit? The accessories said 'counterculture' but the neatly-tucked shirt & boots said "parade rest." If this is how he dresses on his day off...
"Yeah, no, I don't think you can help me." Her tone was blunt, just this shy of rude "Sorry." She didn't trust this total stranger to help her. Myra gave a curt little wave and moved to sidle away through the crowd. "'Scuse me, coming through...need to get to the bridge."
As the punk squeezed through the crowd to approach the bridge that spectators were viewing the running Tauros from...she opted, not to try cross it, but to climb over and across its outside. Myra had a little experience with 'unconventional' methods of travel in her time in Brookfell, and, besides, people climbed this span all the damn time to put graffit or stencil sprays up. She trusted her 'ghostly' intution to warn her if the stampeding Tauros (and Tauros fusions) below were going to present a disaster.

Umbra

Aeson furrowed his brow a moment when he was waved off, well that was a little rude - but he was used to that kind of attitude within Brookfell. Most of the time you encountered rude behavior or those who treated each other terribly. He couldn’t fully grasp the fact in his head, why one would be so cruel to another. Even some of the cops that he’s worked with, everyone feels pain, everyone bleeds the same. Why cause more harm and hurt instead of helping each other?
He watched her trying to cross the bridge a moment, and moved to go after her, that was dangerous for sure, and Knight agreed, though he whimpered when Aeson went to go after her. This could spell disaster for the two of them regardless of how nice they were trying to be. And so, Aeson was on the opposite side of the bridge, ignoring the crowd that semi-stared at them and then went back to the bulls raging about.
“Miss I’d insist you not to do that, it’s very dangerous to cross that way. One wrong tremor and you could fall,” he tried to convince her a bit, offering a hand. “I’ll help you back over and cross, I’d rather not see a beautiful woman become a stain in the lower rings.”

It's fortunate that Myra's response to shock is anger, rather than freezing up or going slack, because she is still clinging to the side of a bridge. Did...did he just..? HE DID!

Myra's gaze hardened, and she adjuted her grip to gesticulate angrily at Aeson, to the spectators above on the bridge.

"Did you all hear this motherfucker? IF I WAS AN UGLY DYKE, HE WOULDN'T CARE IF I LIVED OR DIED! A soft-handed upper-ringer like this slime thinks he can--" Onlookers were clustering closer to her, hoping to capture footage of festival drama. She wouldn't have been the first foolhardy person to try and capture Catastauros footage from a unique angle, but this was something even spicier!

The metal of the bridge flexed and creaked. Myra put both arms back to the edge of the bridge and continued her tirade.

"--_thinks he can HELP, silver spoon here going to summon his personal jet to jaunt us across town because he can't get his dick hard unless he's helping the poors!"

Umbra:

Aesons kind gaze had started to shift slightly, a frown beginning to overtake his features at her words. He was a nice fellow, a good cop that wanted to obey and fix the street. Not some horny bastard, but that's what she was making him put to be. He walked a bit further with her, but stopped after some time.

He could just let her fall, if she got hurt then it would be her fault. He sighed inwardly and shook his head a bit. "Fine if you fall and get hurt, then it's your fault."

He had turned to walk away and leave her to her own devices, Knight whined in his direction. The choice didn't settle with Aeson, but the bridge had begun to shake and move. Probably due to the Tauros, but it was throwing him off balance!

Before he knew it, he stumbled being close to the edge and let out a surprised yelp when he fell over the railing. Knight was quick to jump down in a safe spot, prepared to catch Myra if she fell; he knew that's what Aeson would tell him. All the while Aeson temporarily landed on Tauros' back before bouncing on the sidelines.

"Argh, my back " he grumbled as he stood up, boy shaking slightly and one hand rubbing his lower back.

Zuki:

Myra huffed in relief when the well-intentioned fool relented in assuming what was and wasn't in her best interest. In the past, she'd climbed, jumped, and skillfully navigated the urban landscape of Brookfell. There was no way she was going to let a little thing like Catastauros stop her from getting across town to help a friend laid up with a broken back.

And then-

And then--!

And then the idiot had to go and trip!

"I'm checking the feeds after this," Myra hissed to the crowd on the bridge. "And I swear, if one of you yahoos fucking shoved him--" Myra's deathly glare abruptly dropped out of sight, as she looked down to the stampede below. She shimmied over to the side, then dropped, hoping for a controlled fall-and-roll.

Once they were both on the ground, she was going to grab Aeson and accelerate.

"Move, idiot! Festival tragedy, six o' clock news, i'd rather NOT, so get going!" (edited)

It had all happened faster than he expected, just as Knight had landed on the ground to check on his traine the rude female form befoer also landed on the gorund. Knight wasn't at all happy with her handling Aeson, but he knew this wasn't the time to bark or growl at her. Insteadhe was quick to move as well, to get out of the way.

Aeson let out a huff when he was grabbed, stumbling a little form her movements but he was quick to find his footing and staggered with her out of the way of danger. "You know, if you just took the offer this wouldn't have happened."

He was still annoyed, he hadn't done a damn thing wrong, sometimes he wondered why he decided to be an officer in this place. With them out of danger, and Knight checking him out to see if he was hurt, Aeson panted heavily, his pink hair flopping in front of his face as he did so.

"You shouldn't have jumped after me, you coulda gotten yourself hurt," he panted out, showing he was more worried for her than himself. "You didn't get hurt did you?"

Knight rolled his eyes, Aeson truly was... a stupid person.

Just outside the crack between two buildings that just barely qualified as an alleyway, the bulls and bull fusions thundered along. Spots like this were usually available along the route, so that people could duck aside for medical coverage....or if they lost their nerve.

"I'm sure your offer was well-intentioned, Mr. Nice Guy, but. Really? Have you actually tried to get across this city on Catastauros? Have you tried to hail a cab on C-day? No. No, you can't. Not unless you're willing to wait an hour and a half." And especially not with a shit-ass System that can't connect to the tipping interface. Great way to get deprioritized in the queue, that., Myra thought to herself, but knew better than to say.

She jabbed a thumb over her shoulder at the bridge behind them. "You wouldn't know it, but people climb that bridge all the time. Have you ever seen the graf mural sprayed on its underside?" She snorts, gives the taller man a little bit of a shove, slightly giddy with adrenaline and feeling just a little bit warmer towards the man. "Pff, no, of course not. Anyways. The fastest way around here is rarely the most obvious one."

"....and no, I'm not hurt." Not quite true. Her wrist and shoulder twinged something awful, probably she'd fallen on it the wrong way. But that was a problem for Future Myra.
