Be Faster [Rank-Up]
“Okay, so there’s some rather detailed instructions here,” Kohaku mumbled to himself as he looked over the digitized instructions that had been sent to him. He was dealing with a pokemon he hadn’t met or seen very often, the little creature’s name was Chomper, and he was warned that it likes to bite. That shouldn’t be too hard to deal with, he had spent some of his money and got some chew toys for the deino. He had done some prior research about the species as well, just generic information that was shared through media and sites, as well as official documentation. He didn’t want to do a bad job at watching the little tyke, and surely it couldn’t be that hard to babysit, after all it was just a stage one pokemon, it was a baby right?
The start of the day was normal and went unassumingly well. He showed up at the house, exchanged some words with the suspicious owner, and entered the home after he assured them everything would be fine. He didn’t bring any of his pokemon with him, figuring that dealing with a little deino would be easy! He called for the little creature, but there was no response, and he tilted his head to the side, well not everything would respond when called upon, that was true, even some of his pokemon tend to ignore him at times.
He went to start looking for the little creature, surely he was around somewhere after all, and while he was looking for him, he had found some of the chew toys the owner once had, most of them were chewed up, ripped apart, torn into pieces. This seemed like a lot of violence for a little sage one pokemon, but perhaps this wear and tear happened over the course of several months, not everything lasts forever.
Finally finding the little guy that seemed to have his head stuck in an open cabinet, Haku shook his head. “You’re not supposed to be in there.” He was gentle as he went to touch the little creature’s back, getting a startled response in return and immediately almost being bitten by the startled creature. Chomper seemed to sniff around, and move his head side to side. Haku felt a little bad for him, he looked like he might have been blind by his hair that covered most of his head.
He noticed Chomper was sniffing around the floor and started to get the food for him that had been left behind. “I’d say you are hungry,” Haku smiled, realizing the little one heard his voice and knew where he was. While he was getting the food he felt his legs being headbutted into, harmlessly by the pokemon.
Soft cries were heard but ignored, he needed to make sure to get the right amount in the bowl after all, he did chuckle a little at the creature’s antics, at least until he felt a sharp pain shoot up his leg, almost causing his dragon kite traits to burst forward due to his flight or fight response.
“Ow you little monster,” he winced, quickly sitting the food bowl down for the ravenous pokemon to gobble at, while he looked at his own wound. Several little jagged teeth marks that had pierced skin were around his ankle, a bit of blood seeping down them and he sighed more to himself. Getting hurt by pokemon was part of the job sometimes, and while he did feel angry, he couldn’t stay mad at a pokemon that was unable to actually see anything after all.
“Guess I’ll just have to be better prepared the next time I go to watch a Deino. They get rather impatient when it comes to their food.”
