Fateful Encounter

The temperature outside in Wintervale didn’t seem like it was too cold for the time being, the only semblance of shivers that Ahimoth experienced was when the wind would pick-up which happened often since it was windy in their city. With a sigh, he pulled the side of his coat up a little to hide his face from the gust that blew past him and Snatcher, his pokemon seeming a bit unphased by the cold breeze. He glanced toward Snatcher, who seemed to look at him with a tilt of his head.

“You have to be resilient to cold or you don’t feel it. Perhaps it’s due to your ghost typing,” he mumbled quietly almost, letting his jacket fall back into place once the wind had stopped.

The two continued on their way, letting his pink eyes look around, it was around night time, probably should have been inside of his home, but he was wanting to see if he could hear anything, figure out anything about future plans or attacks. Ahimoth usually avoided anything to do with other humans - though he was slowly starting to warm up to others - he more cared about pokemon and their well-being, and that was what was driving him to seek out information about Cynic and Ethos’ plans, so he could better formulate his own ideas and plans of what should be his next course.

While he walked down an alley, the overshoot of the buildings casting a shadow over himself and his pokemon, Snatcher looked around, his orange eyes glowing in the darkness, and his lips snarled upwards. There was a scent in the air that he disliked, he whipped his head around to look behind him, but nothing was there. He huffed, ignoring the look on Ahimoth’s face as he looked down another narrow path that opened between two buildings, nothing was there either.

“Snatcher what is it?” Ahimoth inquired, he knew this wasn’t normal behavior for a leisure stroll. Something had his attention, hopefully it’s something dangerous and not something miniscule or… well a shiny object.

Snatcher flared his nostrils and moved to stand up on his hind legs, showing his full height as he seemed to try and be intimidating. This seemed to have gained the creature’s attention, there was a wail like none Ahimoth had heard before. He winced, and looked around again, wondering where the wail had come from! He saw nothing, and while he didn’t, Snatcher seemed to growl, a hiss-like snarl slipping past his tightly closed lips.

He smacked his tail against the ground, as if it was a display of aggression,a warning to this other creature to leave them be. What Ahimoth hadn’t expected was another screech to resonate down the alleyway, this wasn’t just a single screech either, there were two others that followed soon after. Ahimoth found himself swallowing as his throat tightened, and his muscles tensed. His eyes narrowed, hardening the look on his face, he moved to put a hand on Snatcher’s large shoulder, muttering under his breath, “May have to hitch a ride on your bud.”

Snatcher paid enough attention to acknowledge Ahimoth’s words, giving a slow bob of his head, while they waited, Snatcher finally caught a glimpse of the creature that was screeching at them. It came down from the sky, barely missing both Snatcher and Ahimoth in its dive downwards. The creature didn’t crash on the ground however, instead it managed to land haphazardly from its charge, and stood up on its hind legs as well. There were two sets of wispy, ghost attributed dragonic-like claws, attached to the body of what seemed to be a three-headed hydreigon.

“Ouroburos what have I told you!”

Ahimoth looked for the source of this strange voice, of this person that he assumed knew this odd pokemon. Snatcher wasn’t letting his guard down though, opening his maw to let out a loud call of his own toward the pokemon, obviously angry.

“Can you shut your pokemon up geez,” sighed the person, as they stepped off the back of Ouroboros. “What are you doing wandering the streets at night anyway?”

Ahimoth’s gaze narrowed, and he crossed his arms over his chest. He wasn’t happy with this mans’ uncanny and rude attitude toward him. “That is my business and not yours,” he quickly replied. “Back your pokemon off first, Snatcher doesn’t threaten another unless they’re dangerous.”

The male chuckled, most of his facial expression was hard to read, but one could see his eyes and how they seemed to look over Ahimoth, almost judging him as he glanced at him. He huffed and turned his back to the man, moving his hand back on Ouroburos’ back. “You’re not worth my time. Don’t wander the streets at night, it’s dangerous.”

Where the hell does this guy get off? Ahimoth asked himself with a narrowed gaze, though before the man could take off, he called out to him. “What are you doing out here, you tell me and I’ll tell you.”

The male seemed to think about it, tilting his head to the side, the sides of his eyes crinkled a little, and he simply answered the question. “Looking for answers, what else would I be wandering around this icy place. Are you going to answer mine now?”

Ahimoth paused, and he uncrossed his arms, seeming to relax a bit, though he was still ready to fight if he needed to. “Same as you. Trying to figure out what to do next.”

The chuckle left his lips and he responded, “Stay indoors, if I were you. You have no business out here trying to find anything, especially with a pokemon like that. See ya~”

Before Ahimoth could say another word, the man was quick to take off on his Hydreigion hybrid, quick to take off which left Ahimoth and Snatcher both seething. The man infuriated him just from the short meeting, and he was sure he would probably catch him around again if he was hanging around Wintervale for the time. With a heavy sigh, he turned his attention away from him and looked toward Snatcher with a bit of a frown. He was too frustrated and charged to continue looking, he’d probably be too rash and make a bad decision.

“Let’s get home for now, we’ll plan with what we know so far, and go from there tomorrow, Snatcher.”

Gaining his attention, Snatcher nodded once more, and moved to duck his head and shoulders down, allowing Ahimoth to slide on top of his back so he could get them home a bit faster than walking.

Who the hell is that guy…
