[Event] To sort out the old
The moment that Frida’s paws landed on Kurai’s stomach, he already knew what would happen. He knew his pokémon enough to know her shenanigans at every moment, even if he was so tired that his brain reacted slowly. A moment later sharp claws began to knead his belly, making him whince, forcing him to quickly pick up the newspaper that had been draped over his face, blocking any light that came in through the window. He was quick to scuffle up into a sitting position, though Frida certainly didn’t think of letting go, simply pushing her claws a liiittle bit deeper as she glared up at him.
Kurai was quick to glare right back, smacking the newspaper down on the table beside him, clattering off a few books and booklets. “The hell, Frida?”, he grumbled, now grabbing the long looking purrloin fusion below the legs and pulling her up. Frida was gracious enough to let go of his poor pullover and in turn flesh but still continued her intense stare at her trainer, the claws still showing between her soft paw pads.
Then, she simply glared to the side, which made Kurai turn his head.
The flat he lived in wasn’t particularly large. A small living room with a build in kitchen, as well as a small bedroom with a small bathroom that was just big enough to fit toilet, sink and shower. Well, living good in Brookfell was pretty much impossible, so Kurai had gladly taken whatever he’d gotten after he’d left his family. There wasn’t much space for books and the like, but somehow Kurai had still managed to get enough to fill the entire living room, making it barely possible to actually walk from the entrance to the couch. Frida had the time of her life to jump between the small and big piles, or simply throw them over when she decided that there wasn’t enough space for her. Kurai himself had little interest in actually sorting anything out, even if it was desperately needed.
Still, he had to admit that his little obsession might have gone a bit overboard. He’d been telling Frida since around a week now that he’d get to sorting everything out and selling the books, yet he’d never actually gotten off his lazy ass to actually do what he promised.
Frida, who now kept staring at her trainer, seemed little convinced that the noivern fused trainer would actually do what he’d promised, so now she simply decided to take destiny into her own paws.
Once he let go of her, she quickly turned around and jumped up onto the closest pile of books. There she carefully balanced her weight, looking over her shoulder at Kurai, who watched her through sleepy, confused eyes - then the claws came out and one paw was raised. Threateningly.
“No nono!”, Kurai immediately yelped, rushing off the couch to grab Frida and get her off the books, pretty much falling off the comfortable couch. The pokémon didn’t so much as offer a glance in his direction, instead quick to simply jump up to the next pile of books, ending with Kurai crashing through the first and throwing them to the ground. Unlucky for him he dragged another few books right down with him with his wings, ending with quite a bit of novels soon draping over him in a clutter.
Frida glared down at him, letting out an amused ‘mrreow’, before continuing to jump to the next book pile, where she simply swatted the top one down to join Kurai on the ground. The noivern infused trainer glanced up at his pokemon, watching her play, before he pulled out his phone.
“Got it”, he grumbled, “I’ll get rid of some. But don’t throw any more books!” Frida stopped, one paw once again raised, then looking down at her trainer. Her red eyes were gleaming, but then she already jumped off the pile and back down to the ground. There she raised her chin and strutted up to Kurai, where she sat down right beside him and licked over his cheek. He sighed, patting her head. “Alright, alright. Now help me decide which books we want to keep and which one we’ll sell.”
For Frida that answer was a simply one. She simply glared at him, then made a wide movement with her tail around the room, before she looked back at Kurai. He raised his brows and returned the look, more indignant this time. “I’m not selling all of them.”
That gave him a little slap against the cheek, claws luckily still retracted, considering Frida wasn’t above giving her trainer a harder time. She then got up and strutted to his bedroom, glaring into it as well. “I’m not selling any books that are there either!”
The sound that Frida let out could only be described as ‘indifferent huff of annoyance’. Kurai pouted lightly, finally climbing out from between the books that had fallen onto him, his wings pulled closer. Then, he got to sorting and making photos, under the watchful eyes of the self-proclaimed mistress of the house.
It had been nice to have this many books to read when the lockdown was issued, yet Frida was absolutely right about it having grown out of hand. So slowly but surely, the books got sold off.
In the end, when around half had disappeared, Kurai was almost a little awestruck at the sudden space he had. He might still be able to fit a small bookshelf in here!
fter essentially being forced to stay inside after the region went on lockdown due to the fighting, you realize your living space isn’t…as clean as it could be. Your Pokemon are looking at you with sad eyes from under a pile of old pizza boxes! Spend some time cleaning up your home, and depict what that means for you and your Pokemon.
