[Move Learning] Angry Dragon

“Let’s see you show off night slash, alright Frida? Can’t have you completely forget a whole type, after all”, Kurai laughed, while Haruki blinked his tired eyes up at the massive snake in front of them. Frida had recently evolved, turning from her small, easy to fit around Kurais neck Purrloin and Dratini fusion to a large, snake-like creature that combined the traits of a Dragonair and a Liepard, all down to the yellow markings and winged ears. And ever since then, Frida had not been all too pleased with the result. After all, that meant she could hardly laze around Kurai anymore and she had to coil together whenever she wanted to rest, only allowed to fully spread her long body in the alleyway or the park that their apartment was closest to.

So now Kurai had taken both Haruki and Frida out for some move training, as well as basic exercise, while Pesky remained home and cooked. Frida glared down at her trainer, then extended her claws. She looked a little awkward still, having to navigate her longer body and longer legs didn’t come as natural to her as one might have thought.

The jewel on her throat began to glimmer, before bits of black smoke began to curl around it. The same, smoke-like substance began to billow up around her claws, before forming into longer, purple glowing claws. Then, Frida dashed forward and towards Haruki, slamming her paw down on the Eevee. As Kurai was quick to jump backwards with his wings spread, keeping himself a bit afloat, Haruki dashed forward, evading the attack by simply jumping below Frida at high speed that Kurai had not seen him use before. She hadn’t even struck the blow against the earth when the energy already dissipated, puffing away fully as she turned around to face her training opponent. Said opponent was already back to standing, turned around to the large dragon and dark typed snake, his stance ready to evade again if she tried to attack once more.

Kurai smiled, clapping a bit. “Good effort! You pretty much got the attack down!”, he called to his Pokémon, who glared back at him, before letting out a snort. Kurai’s attention then quickly shifted over to Haruki, who licked once over his paws, before shaking out his fluffy fur. “And you! What was that sudden speed? You already got the knack of Quick Attack?”

Haruki simply licked over his paws again, his ears twitching as he simply let out a little, albeit it proud “vee”. Unprompted he then began to zick zack from one place to the other, fast and without a break inbetween. One thing was sure, he had basically mastered that attack already, happy to show it off now. Frida tried to keep her eyes peeled on the Eevee, the feathers and fur between her scales puffing up. She didn’t like not having an attack mastered while the brown little furball kept zipping between them.

With a little chuckle, Kurai landed back on the ground, taking a few further steps back. “You’ve also practiced Sharpen, so how about you show that off”, he grinned at Haruki, who now quickly stopped in his tracks, looking up at the trainer. Then the normal typed Pokémon shook out his fur once more, concentration now prominent on his face. Frida leaned a bit down, her paws firmly planted on the ground as she stared at him, the wings flapping a bit in curiosity. As Dragonair were flying creatures, Frida herself had that ability now as well, letting her feathers spread into wings to pull herself up into the sky.

All of a sudden, Haruki tensed. A second later, his fur perked up, all of a sudden no longer fluffy and easy to pet and coddle, but spiked and standing off. It almost looked as if the Eevee had suddenly decided to turn into a Pincurchin, spikes standing off his entire body, especially around his neck and tail, where his fur was the longest. Some of the strands of fur were rather loose, falling back down into their soft state, but it was already clear that Haruki had practically mastered the move. Some more training would be needed, but that was why they were outside after all.

Kurai looked back at Frida, who licked over her own snout as she watched the Eevee prance around his spiked fur. “Alright, Frida. Don’t think you want to hit him with your night slash now”, he laughed, his arms crossing in front of his chest. “What can you do now?”

Frida blinked as she looked back at the noivern infused trainer, before she turned back towards Haruki, who now turned back to face her. On his face was a big smile as he looked up at the dragon, while Frida was busy scanning his spiked fur. Yeah, hitting her paw on that would be painful. So she’d have to try something else, even if up until now, she hadn’t been all too proficient with special moves.

The gem on her throat began to glow once more, this time brighter and with a purple hue, as Frida opened her maw. In front of it a small orb of pure energy formed, shining bright and with a mixture of purple and turquoise, but shaking as it tried to keep its form. Frida concentrated more, her gaze fixated on Haruki. He remained where he was with tense muscles, ready to jump out the way when he had to.

Frida narrowed her eyes, closing her maw for a moment - before she threw her head back, the gem glowing brighter, before she pushed forward and unleashed the Dragon Breath attack. A thin beam of pure power traveled over to Haruki, who quickly sidestepped with another quick attack. The beam disappeared almost as fast as it had come, making Frida twitch in annoyance.

Kurai tilted his head a bit. Thanks to his noivern infusion and the resulting dragon traits, such as hoarding books, he also had the ability to perform a dragon breath attack, often trying to practice with her. “I told you before. Focus, deep breath-” Frida smacked her tail down, the gems at the end of it cracking the ground below. She glared at Kurai, who blinked, then simply shrugged. “Okay. Figure it out yourself then”, he hummed, giving her a thumbs up.

Haruki chuckled amused, then grinned, suddenly jumping forward in a quick attack. Frida looked back at him, then moved to the side, dragging her long body after her. The Eevee didn’t mind, Frida not being used to her new size and moving too slowly still allowed him to hit her in the flanks of one of her back legs, making her hiss loudly.

Turning her long body on itself she focussed back on Haruki, her gem gleaming as once again the orb formed in front of her mouth, anger and frustration clear in her eyes. Then, this time before Haruki could jump away to avoid an attack, the dragon breath attack forming properly and hitting the Eevee right into his side.

He was flung off and away from her, crashing to the side, where he quickly got up. The spikes fell back down into soft fur as he shook himself out, staring up at her. Frida looked awfully satisfied with herself, licking over her snout as she glanced back to Kurai.

He tilted his head a bit. “Good job. But we really need to work on that newfound attitude of yours.”

Frida is not vibing with her new form yet - she needs some more convincing that she can find other positions to chill with Kurai that do not have to have her hang around his neck.

Frida is learning Dragon Breath and Night Slash - 1EXP

Haruki is learning Quick Attack and Sharpen - 1EXP
