[Event] To the Bullet Train

“There really is little reason to take any other way, isn’t there?”, Peija hummed, looking at the map of Ethermoor as she searched for the subway. Beside her Kuriola walked, nodding with clear amusement in her eyes, as she watched a few other trainers that were clearly packing up for a travel through the sands. Genuinely, she herself was happy enough to take the bullet train together with Peija.

She had closed her bakery for a few days, as plenty of trainers had been called to explore the newly freed city of Thundervale and Peija was not one to say no to a fun little experience. Yet while it definitely seemed like an option to just try and walk through the desert, she much preferred the gentle humming of the bullet train as it rushed through the tunnels. Kuriola, walking beside Peija and gently nudging her to avoid a pole, joined that sentiment. Relaxed she carried her trainers bag, looking around and eyeing the people.

Peija followed her glance at the entrance to the subway. “That should be it”, she smiled, closing the map and putting it into the travelbag. “Well. Let’s see if it’s as overrun as they say.” Kuriola nodded and quickly followed after her trainer, as Peija entered the station.

Inside the large station, the bullet train wasn’t hard to see, despite plenty of people already around. Trainers from all around the region seemed to have gathered to make the trip, making the sights quite interesting, if a little cluttered.

Slowly she began to move through the masses of trainers and their pokemon teams, only catching some snippets of conversations. ‘Does this train really go to Thundervale?’ ‘... heard there’s plenty of Cynics…’ ‘Quite some Brookfell crooks…’

Kuriola glanced up at one of the other trainers, but was quick to follow after her trainer and catch up with her. With a little grumble, she gently tugged at her jacket. Peija blinked and looked down at her partner pokemon, then smiled lightly. “Don’t worry, we’ll be careful”, she gently promised, patting her head, careful of the horn in the middle of Kuriolas forehead. The Pokémon looked back at her, then nodded, before continuing to follow after her.

Genuinely, Peija had little worries about this situation. She was aligned with neither Ethos, nor Cynic, so neutral as she was, she should not have any problems with those grunts that did frequent the train. Still, she was not too optimistic to not believe that trouble could be brewing and she did not want to just run right into them. So… it was time for her and her Pokémon to keep to themselves.

Quietly they waited for their turn to board the bullet train, looking around for a proper place to sit, yet with so many people around, that was basically just wishful thinking. In the end, she moved away from the entrances and towards the first class. While she certainly could not afford to actually find a place there, she did have some luck on her way and quickly flopped down onto a single free spot.

Kuriola quickly sat down in front of her, resting her head on Peijas lap with a soft yawn, before her trainer took the bag off her. “Alright. Now it’s just time for us to wait for it to start”, Peija hummed, shrugging off her jacket in the comfortable warmth of the train. Honestly, why anybody would choose the desert really was beyond her.
