First Night With April

As Shinjiro was making himself ready for bed, he noticed right away that April was laying on his pillow, already curled together, feet flat on the pillow as her nose was hidden under her tail. The purple haired male smiled slightly as he approached April and said: ,,April, you got a perfectly good bed right there, you dont need my pillow.”

The Shinx looked up at Shinjiro’s voice, tilting her head as the tired eyes were focusing slowly but surely on the young male. It was wildly adorable, Shinjiro had to admit, but he then slowly approached the bed fully and picked up April, the Shinx mildly complaining with slight growls as Shinjiro pressed her softly against his chest, saying: ,,I know, you want my Pillow, but you got a good bed for you~” As he talked, he slowly approached the little bed he had sitting at the foot of his bed, slowly laying the little Shinx in the “Puppy Bed”, how they used to call it when their Dad was still with them.

But almost as soon as April noticed that she was in the bed, she jumped out of it again, walking back up to the pillow of her trainer, yet before she was able to get back up, Shinjiro grabbed her again, again putting her into the little bed, which made the golden eyes of the Shinx look back up at him, a sad ‘Shi… Shinx!” escaped her as Shinjiro said: ,,Thats your sleeping place, April. You sleep here while I sleep there, okay?”

April looked back to the pillow and then back to Shinjiro, her ears falling as she realised what Shinjiro actually meant with it, making the little Shinx curl up, the dog bed a bit too big for her as she curled together right on the edge, which made Shinjiro almost feel bad as he saw her basically almost drowning in the bed, making him look around.

He had to have some sort of Blanket around, he knew that, until he saw it in a corner of his room, directly almost running there to collect it and shake it out a bit, dust flying through the room, making him cough slightly that April looked up in confusion and maybe a bit of worry as Shinjiro slowly came back to her, fluffing up the blanket a bit and then, before April had the chance to move, he put the blanket over her and stuffed it into the dog bed, smiling a bit as he was done with his work, April looking confused as she laid her head down onto the blanket.

Yet her ears were still laid down, the big puppy eyes up at Shinjiro, visibly asking him to reconsider his choices, but Shinjiro ignored it, he had learned such from his dad, Dog Pokemon tended to use those all the time, that April was able to do that wasnt a surprise to him. Shinjiro then slowly started to go into his bed, climbing into it, blanket on top and then looking at April, who had followed his movement with her eyes without turning off the puppy dog eyes, yet Shinjiro said: ,,Good Night April.”

The Shinx growled a bit unhappy, curling herself more together, visibly pouting, which made Shinjiro sigh, laying down, hugging his pillow as he yawned quietly. Before he though got to close his eyes, a knock on the door was audible, making the male turn around and say: ,,Yeah?” His mother came in, smiling a bit and saying: ,,Just wanted to say Good Night.” Shinjiro smiled and looked at April, which made Sango look to her too, laughing a bit as she said: ,,Oh my, April you look like a kicked Lillipup. Why do you not let her sleep beside you, Shin?”

,,Otherwise she’s gonna do it always… Just like Dad said…”, Shinjiro said, Sango’s face falling at the mention of his father, yet forcing a smile as she said: ,,I know but… She’s just a little Shinx. She aint as big as your Dads Pokemon were.” ,,But she will be one day”, Shinjiro answered, his mother laughing a bit as she said: ,,Fine then, Train her like your Dad did his. You know your Brother and I could never.” ,,And whats with Hideko?” ,,She also couldnt and you know that”, Sango said and smiled softly, as she then said: ,,Good Night you two. Sleep well, dont let the blipbugs bite.”

Shinjiro laughed and said: ,,Good Night Mom.” With that Sango left the room and closed the door behind her, leaving Shinjiro and April in the dark room behind as Shinjiro laid back down, cuddled into his pillow and was about to close his eyes again, when he noticed movement from April. He slightly looked up as he noticed her having gotten up, staring at him with the big puppy eyes, yet Shinjiro said: ,,You stay there, April, okay?”

The Shinx continued standing there, her tail waving slightly behind her, low to show her displeasure, which made Shinjiro press his lips together. A sigh escaped him then for real, as he said: ,,Fine, come here.” April’s ears shot up as she jumped onto the bed beside him, or well… behind him. She laid down in his neck, the male looking at her and saying: ,,Comfy?” April nodded with a visible smile on her face as she laid her head down and closed her eyes, purrs escaping her as Shinjiro chuckled slightly as he laid his head properly down and then closed his eyes, slowly starting to drift into sleep.

In the morning, or well, in the early morning hours he woke up due to movement, making the male press his eyes together in an attempt to force himself back to sleep, yet he couldnt as he felt something heavy on his head and his shoulder. As he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw were paw pads, with that already telling him what happened and why he is awake. Slightly he moved his eyes, seeing the little Shinx laying splayed on his head and shoulder, which generally was cute, but it hurt.

Slowly he pushed her down from his head, closing his eyes again as he tried to go back to sleep, which was almost a success when he suddenly felt a kick in his back, an “Ow!” escaping the male as he looked at April, her having kicked him as she readjusted herself to not be in pain herself.

A sigh escaped Shinjiro as he again laid his head down and tried to sleep, turning into a success this time around, but as his alarm went off, he felt exhausted, as if he staid up the whole night. His eyes opening to the Sun almost peeking through his window, basically the “butt crack of dawn”, how his dad used to say. He slowly stretched and then looked, seeing April laying in the same position as before as she had kicked herself into place.

It was cute but… he honestly regretted allowing her up there. Slowly he sat up, making the Shinx slide down the pillow, yet she didnt move at it, snoring peacefully as he looked at her and said: ,,You’re too cute, but please let me sleep properly.” The Shinx didnt react, sleeping peacefully as he sat there, thinking if he was even in the right time zone, maybe he teleported while sleeping? He doubt it but it felt like it.

Maybe he really should just get April her own miniature bed so she can kick a doll in the back…
