Getting Stronger! [Beetlebite - Region Repair]
Kohaku couldn’t believe there was such a cute little critter waiting to be taught moves. He hadn’t seen the little tyke as a Weetle, but it surely was cute. While he was looking at the more confident and pretty Beetlebite he would turn to his companion he brought with him this time, his smile widening as Vespa would fly over a little closer to them.
“Are you ready to teach our friend some new moves, Vespa?” He would ask of her, tilting his head to the side to see if she understood.
Vespa would give a casual nod, being near Beetlebite now, and looking over the small pokemon. It would surely need some defensive moves that was for sure, though all Vespa knew herself was tackle, so the two of them would be able to learn together, to say the least.
It would start off with the two attacking a tree, both using Tackle and while doing so, Vespa would start to move her body in a rather odd way. It was serene movements, almost like she was dancing of sorts. With her wings fluttering and almost making a calming clicking noise, some powder could be seen flinging off of her wings as she did so. It seemed like her speed had increased and her power, as the tree was taking bigger cracks than it was before.
Beetlebite would notice this and try to mimic the behavior itself, working the shell of its upper body to make movements back and forth, causing the plates to rub together and make a clicking noise. It wasn’t as elegant as Vespa’s regal-like movements, but it seemed to start to have the same effect Vespa’s did surprisingly.
The two of them would quickly learn the move Quiver dance together, proud of one another, Vespa would give a soft sound in congratulations to Beetlebite; but this was not an offensive move to teach the pokemon, just a boost in certain skill stats, so there was more to teach.
With their speed and power upp’d the two of them were doing quick work of the tree, the cracks would get bigger and bigger before the two trees would fall to the ground, crashing with a loud thud of their own. Vespa would smile towards Beetlebite, proud of its increase in attacks, but shake her head as if to say they weren’t done just yet.
Kohaku was making sure to monitor them both the best he could, letting a hand rest on his chin in thought. The breeze from the trees would ruffle his hair, and he tried to recount some of the moves he had seen other pokemon use before. He would snap his fingers, and grin. “Why don’t you both try focusing your energy on the downed tree, we can try to see if you can learn the attack known as signal beam?”
Vespa would turn her whole body to look at her trainer for a moment, almost seeming concerned with the idea, but would try it anyway. She looked to Beetlebite just to hear the upper plating of its shell clacking together, as if it was ready to try to learn this new challenge as well!
Vespa would nod, closing her eyes and trying to concentrate her powers, as Beetlebite would do the same. The little flecks that had fallen off their body, floating on the wind would be attracted towards them, slowly going into a centered appendage. For Vespa it was the head gem she possessed, and for Beetlebite it seemed to be the two stingers at the end of its body.
Soon the concentrated appendages started to glow with colors of greens and yellows, reflecting in a circle-like pattern - much like how colors reflected off of oil spills when mixed with water. As their energy grew, Vespa would open her eyes as would Beetlebite, the two of them were now ready to release their attack on the enemy - which was the fallen trees.
Soon a beam with the colors reflected in Vespa’s Gem and Beetlebites stingers were released, going after the trees in a steady stream. It seemed to take almost no time for the tree to be splintered down the center, sending shavings and bark to all different sides of their arena. By the time they were done the tree was a multitude of fractured pieces, lying around on the soil.
Kohaku would smile at the two of them, letting a hand rub on Vespa’s head in a gentle manner before he would lean down toward the new bug type and give it a grin of his own, a thumbs up as well.
“Good work on learning that move. I’m sure you’ll be able to help protect yourself a little better now, with Quiver Dance and Signal Beam learned, you might be a force to be reckoned with, heh.”
