He was enjoying the stay at his house, though rest was never one that came so easily. What little bit of reprieve he had was whisked away by an urgent call on his TD. He assumed it was a call to all that were willing to help, and so Kohaku would stand up while looking at the holographic screen before him.

“Seeking help immediately. Able bodied trainers to come to our technician's aid. Help protect them from Shadow Pokemon while light beacons are installed. Go to your nearest bullet train, scan your TD on the terminal. Make sure to click accept, all help is appreciated.”

Khaki could have been lazing on his couch, petting his pokemon, enjoying a quiet day at home, but no he decided something else was worth it. He would glance at all that would look to him, and Kohaku would shake his head. He would only take one of them for such a dangerous mission, and he knew just the one.

“Valdis let's go,” He'd smile to the Spirizard, he was sure the fusion would like some action instead of hanging around the house. He would look to those he was leaving behind. “Take care of the house, I'll be back shortly alright?”

With those promised words, Kohaku would walk towards the door, allowing Valdis to exit the building first before he would as well. He had been to Murkhaven recently, remembering the husks that walked around like lifeless corpses, it unsettled him more than one would think. But he didn't have time to wait, they needed to act, now.

“We'll try to make sure you don't have to fight too much. I haven't seen you fight before and these are Shadow pokemon, I just want to be careful.”

Valdis didn't understand, but his ghostly aura told him Kohaku was weary. This would result in the large Charizard to snort, wracking his tail on the cracked sidewalk behind him and a roar.

Kohaku would nod, as if understanding what was said, and they were off to the bullet train. He knew it would take several hours as they'd have to stop at the nearest city, and fly the rest of the way there. Kohaku would just hope that Valdis could fit into the train.

They boarded easily once Kohaku's TD was scanned, and they boarded the train, Valais would barely fit inside, but they were now on their way.

Kohaku would notice the train didn't seem too crowded around this time, probably weren't a lot of others currently traveling. At least that's what he'd like to assume. For the time being he would lean his head back and close his eyes, deciding to take a small rest for now.

It didn't seem like he had drifted off for that long before the blaring alarm of the train would wake him from sleep. Valais was already standing up, waiting at the exit for Kohaku. Kohaku would give a sheepish smile in response and exit the bullet train. They had a little bit more to travel, so once they were outside, Kohaku would pull himself on Valdis’ back.

It was a few hours later that Kohaku would finally arrive at the location, seeing some weary, nervous technicians there. It was a quick debrief of what he would do and where his station was. Kohaku would nod, using Valdis to get atop of the platform.

The large light Cannon must have been charged with a battery as there were no cables attached. While Kohaku would man the Cannon, Valdis would circle around the premises, looking for any Shadow Pokemon venturing too close.

It seemed uncannily peaceful for the first hour, Kohaku had started to fall asleep, and Valdis was getting pissed the longer nothing happened.

Then it started, a light rumbling from the ground, pebbles skittering across the soil. These Shadow Pokemon were digging themselves out of the ground, being borrowers of sorts. What looked to be a few Sandshrews, and Sandiles started to make their way towards the technicians.

Valais would answer their sudden appearance with a loud roar, strong wing beats would have him fly over top of them, rolling two sandiles onto their back.

While Valdis would take his time to circle around, Kohaku was quick to shoot the light Cannon, the merciful spirit within him would cause him to barely miss the threat.

Valdis finally doing a fill circle would open his mouth, flames would spew out of it as he focused on the two recovering Sandiles. He did not hesitate to unleash a Blue Flare from his maw, hitting the ground between the Sandiles and causing them to be pushed back, knocking into the Sandshrews.

It seemed that wave of Shadow pokemon were smart enough to retreat, burrowing back into the ground, and leaving them alone.

It seemed after the first wave more would make their appearance, what looked like pidgeys would swoop at Valdis, having an Aerial battle amongst themselves. Kohaku would have to swivel the cannon around the technicians, trying to keep the flying threats off of them.

At the same time more land threats were making their way to the team. It looked like some canid and Feline pokemon that Haku would have to deal with. Valdis had finally driven off or killed the flying threat and would focus on the land threat.

Kohaku would wonder, as he swiveled the cannon, obliterate a few Shadows that he'd hit head on, if the technicians were really safe.

Valdis would fire off Blue Flare, after Blue Flare coming extremely close to the workers that some would feel the heat off the intense flames.

It seemed that after fifteen to twenty Shadow Pokemon, the technicians were done in this area at least. Valdis would land, exhausted by Kohaku, who would pat his shoulder and look up to the dimming cannon.

“That might need recharging before it can be used again,” he'd speak to the lead technician. “Sorry it took some time, I've never operated on them before.”

The man didn't seem pleased, narrow gaze seemingly focused on the Spirizard. “Just make sure to teach your partner better safety precautions.”

Kohaku would laugh nervously as Valdis would respond with a flamed snort.

“Will do, will do. I hope these beacons do their job, that once all are setup we can get the fog to dissipate.”

The technician would seem to nod in agreement waving to his men once the bright beacon was lit.

“Me too kid.”

The two of them had a bit more to exchange before Kohaku would decide their mission was done. Valdis and him could finally return home, relax and put the day behind them.

Kohaku would realize later just what he had done with the light cannon.
