Itty Bitey Beetibite 2

Relaxing in the sun.

What a life this was.

Beetibite had gotten better again. As had Kaleb though Kurai preferred keeping him in his ball. Glancing over to Pesky who was chewing on chips. “So you really taught Beetibite two moves just with visuals?”
“Just visual, ha!” His display lit up. Showing multiple moves being performed. Kurai could see that it was videos from Pokemon fights on the net. “Maybe we could show Beetibite even more powerful moves.” He looked down at the bug pokemon who had chewed its way into a piece of cake. Or well already through.

“After all, Struggle Bug and U turn are nice, but the latter won't be as usable outside of trainer battles.”
“Just needs more friends,” he replied, munching relaxed.

Kurai chuckled, petting Beetibite. “Possible.” He eyed it and then glanced to Pesky. “Do you have Thommy with you?”
“Yeah why?”
“I think Beetibite does need a better attack still. Something that will do proper damage!”
His friend frowned. Licking his fingers clean.

“Why?”

“Fighting is about strength! Of course being clever is practical but if one strike can end the opponent, that is a clear win.”
Beetibite seemed to get excited as well. Seeing Kurai's eagerness. “Why not let it fight Haruki again?” “First of all-” Kurai motioned to the asleep Haruki, lying on Pesky's jacket. “We can't just wake him constantly. Second don't you think Thommy deserves to practice a bit.”
“He is just as lazy as Haruki. He has no need.”

“Now come on. Don't chicken out.”
Kurai got up, Beetibite already following as they made their way back to the fighting spot. “How about we don't fight at the exact same spot at least. That's far to boooooooring.”
Kurai glanced at him. “Where do you propose?” Pesky pointed down the path to another smaller clearing. Kurai squinted. “That looks like it had been too open.” “Are you the chicken now?”

The noivern fusion scoffed with a grin. They packed up quickly, before making their way over. Pesky looking around. Taller grass and one could see the sky with ease. Kurai grumbled. “The floor is wet..” “Oh are you made out of sugar now?” He looked to Kurai. “More like salt probably.”

Kurai looked to Beetibite. “You alright with this?” It nod in agreement and they got ready. Pesky stepping away to stand opposite of them. With enough space between before he tossed his pokeball lazily in the air.

Thommy jumping out. Stretching himself and yawning, before looking at Kurai and Beetibite. Waving one vine in response to Kurai waving at him.

Beetibite on the other hand was ready for battle!
No time for niceties.

Pesky looked to Thommy. “Ready?” The grass electro fusion nod and yawned again. Taking another moment to be really awake. Kurai smiled and then squatted down.

“Okay Beetibite. We are going to teach you one new move now. So you got something to really fight.”
The bug pokemon was excited.
“And we won't need visuals. Let me just explain it to you.”

Kurai was certain X-Scissor wasn't difficult to teach. After all it was such a straight forward move.

Pesky watched Kurai struggle and explain and explain. The bug Pokemon just not really getting it. They both did try to copy what they thought was right. Watching Beetibite jump around and fling its tail a bit through the air, yet none of that seemed to actually work. Pesky chuckled, as Thommy already was ready to get back into the pokeball. But they were playing nice. So they gave them time.

And after a few minutes, which felt like hours, Kurai finally got up. “Okay! We are ready to test it!”

Pesky got out of his handstand and looked to Kurai. Who frowned briefly but did not comment on it.

Thommy stretched, while Beetibite scuttled to battle.

Kurai smiled as they all got ready.

“Alright Thommy, tackle!”

“Evade and use struggle bug!”

The beetibite was quick to follow. Thommy not even trying to react fast enough to get out of the way. Kurai blinked as Beetibite bit down on the plant on his back, just for the bulbasaur fusion to flop onto its side. Squishing Beetibite who now struggled more than fighting.

Pesky snickered. “That was so weak!” Kurai huffed. “X-Scissor! Try it now!”

Beetibite chittered and tried its damnedest to get out from under Thommy. Who after some wriggling just got back up on his feet. The bug pokemon not wasting any time. Pesky was quick to shout for Thommy to duck. Which he promptly did. Beetibite missing my a sliver. Chittering angrily.

Kurai grinned.

“That was amazing! Again!”
“Tackle!”
Thommy just threw himself into the attack. Both of them rolling over the ground, before getting up again. Kurai raised his eyebrows. They had both gotta a good beating from that.

And thommy surely was none to fight much beyond capacity. So it clear whoever could muster the next hi-

“Splash em!”

“Spla-”
Thommy flipped the water and mud on the ground towards Beetibite. Which screeched surprised, trying to get away but got just covered in it.
“Yes keep going!”
“Pesky that's not a move!” “But we are winning!”

He sighed as Thommy kept going. Kurai looking at Beetibite. “Strugglebug and then another X-Scissor!” Beetibite seemed to get what he meant. Instantly starting to struggle and move. The mud not sticking much longer as it used the thrown back mud for cover. Thommy had to shield his eyes with his vines.

Just the perfect moment.

And then it charged and attacked.

Pesky blinked as Thommy keeled over. Knocked out.

Beetibite on top of him, cheering excited. “Good job!” Kurai ran to them and picked Beetibite up. Flicking last remnants of mud off.

His friend picked up his pokemon, cleaning him off before making sure he could rest in the pokeball. “You really got your trickster tactics.” Kurai chided him, which he answered with a laughing emoji. “Battles are meant for fun. Playing by the rules is no fun.”
