Pokecenter's were always busy, they never seemed to slow down even once and within the crime ridden city of Brookfell it was even worse. There were illegal fighting rings scattered throughout the city and in them pokemon would frequently get injured. If they were injured beyond what their trainers could heal on their own many times they were abandoned and simply left for a dead, a rather cruel practice all things considered. Isaiah always pitied the pokemon who were abandoned for not being strong enough and when he would hear about it happening it wasn't uncommon for him to find that injured pokemon. He'd collect them from the streets and bring them to the nearest pokecenter for treatment that their previous trainer had refused. Perhaps it was a bit hypocritical for him to do this, but he truly did sympathize with the abandoned.

At the start the fact he brought these pokemon to the center was met with suspicion from the workers. It was frequent enough to where they wondered if he was a part of it and while he would never answer their questions they did over time begin to accept his arrival. With the pokemon he was never cruel, and to the staff he was never rude. If anything the Vile-plume fused man always seemed to be genuinely concerned about the injured creatures and would pace in the front lobby for hours until he would get news of a recovery. Every hour on the dot he would go up to the front desk and ask about the state of the pokemon and if they would be okay until eventually he would be brought to the back to be with the pokemon.

That's where Isaiah was now. He was sitting on the ground in the recovery room and there was a rather large Lycanroc in his lap. Her eyes had been injured and with the threat of going blind they were abandoned. How upset the wolf-like pokemon had been earlier, when they first woke up they had been confused and angry. They weren't used to the tender loving care of a touch and had attempted to bite or attack the nurse tending to them. She was raised in a world where there was nothing but that, and it was the type of aggression that Isaiah was most familiar with.

Whether it was a skill, luck, or pure chance pokemon in such a situation while still sometimes showing hostility to him would not show the same aggression they might to other. The Vileplume fusion had been in the back rooms of the pokecenter for close to six hours now, working to calm down the Lycanroc. He did now have bites covering along his arms or claw marks as they had torn through his clothes, but it had all been worth it. They had eventually been soothed by the man who now was very gently petting along their back.

In the doorway one of the nurses had finally come back into the room after hearing it go quiet and peered inside. "It's a miracle that you're able to do this." She mused out at the sight of the vileplume fused man resting on the floor with the Lycanroc-- whose lips began to curl up at the sound of another. If Isaiah hadn't reached forward to very gently take a hold of their cheeks and pull them back in towards him they might have lunged towards the nurse.  "When this lady first woke up I wasn't sure what we might end up doing. She went on an absolute rampage."

Isaiah didn't reply right away, he felt awkward in the presence of the other and were to focus more on petting the fur of the Lycanroc. This time however, it was less in an attempt to soothe them as much as it was to sooth himself. "Ah.. well.. It's. It's not really her fault she's like this?" He said quietly and the nurse smiled more gently. This man had never spoken very much, and when he did he always seemed nervous. He wasn't nervous if he was the one to initiate conversation, but if someone like her started it? He would always seem to clam up.

"It isn't, and we appreciate you helping to care and soothe them. I do still have to wonder though how you found her?"

The question made Isaiah pause a little as he curled in closer to the pokemon. He couldn't tell her the truth. Sure he didn't participate in the rings himself, but he was an organizer behind them. As such this meant that when one of these pokemon was abandoned he often would find out. "..." He didn't reply this time, instead reaching forward to squish at the Lycanroc's paw pads which earned a rather heavy sigh from the nurse.

She had expected it, he never replied after all and all she could think was that in some way he was caught up in them, but he always gave the impression that it wasn't of his own will or wish. He seemed to care too much for the pokemon to be able to hurt them intentionally like this.
