A darkness within

Baba can see a darkness within you. She has sent you on the path of doing a good deed for someone else. Maybe you'll come back a bit brighter than you were before.

Darkness within him... Isaiah was laying in his bed with a large mass of blankets and pillows surrounding him. A little phantump yamask fusion circling around him as well and chittering at him in conversation that he couldn't understand. They sounded upset though, was it perhaps about what the old woman had said? That he had darkness within him? The pokemon let out a particularly upset cry now and their trainer slowly reached up to take a hold of them. Bringing the ghost type close to their chest in a hug as he closed his eyes.

"Don't cry, it isn't as if she is wrong." Isaiah whispered out to the pokemon as he were to pull some of the blankets up to swaddle the little pokemon. "We have been accused of not having a heart before, well... I have at least." It wasn't an uncommon situation all things considered. The morals of this man were loose, and the way his mind worked in regards to the life of humans was twisted. Pokemon and children he had some degree of sympathy for, but even then it was limited towards those who have suffered unfortunate fates.

Twiggy still didn't seem to like this however as they fought to try and escape the little cocoon of fabric that Isaiah had put him in. Their eyes were burning in rage as they let out another cry and Isaiah frowned. Was it really upsetting them that much to hear that he had darkness within him? Was it perhaps because that old lady had said it out loud? Usually most wouldn't say it to his face, so this might be one of the first instances where Twiggy has heard it put so bluntly. "Hmm..." He quieted down a little and looked down.

Baba had said afterwards that she wanted for him to do a good deed for someone else. "Would you like it if I made it so that she saw less darkness?" He asked towards his little pokemon and at the suggestion they stopped crying. Their eyes looked up at him and the pink pupils that were usually small had grown wide. Ah, they did want that. They wanted for him to prove her wrong.... even though she was absolutely correct.

How could he do that was the question now. It wasn't that hard, there were lots of ways to do easy deeds, right? He often went to the pokecenter to soothe any particularly hostile pokemon, but Baba still saw darkness in his soul then that probably wasn't enough to count. He could donate some of his money towards a charity, he had more than enough to do so but he knew as well that in Brookfell most of those charities were rather corrupt so it was a bit less than ideal.

Perhaps he could aid someone random in Brookfell, but there was no one in there that he particularly cared to help... This was harder than he had expecting. Sighing he slowly pushed himself up. Twiggy was still held in close against his chest as he would wander out of bed to look out the window. He peered at the canyon filled city while the pokemon wiggled within his arms before finally giving a small little hum. "...What about that cute arcanine man." He finally asked aloud.

There was one man he might not help aiding, they were a fool. A complete idiot who worked within the police force and had far too much innocence. Unlike Baba who had seen Isaiah and said they had darkness within them- they had looked at him and instantly assumed him to be a good person. They even then tried to protect and save him-- unknowingly from himself. It had been rather cute. "His pay isn't as high as it should be in his position, but he's too much of an idiot to realize or go after more..."

After they had tried to protect Isaiah the Vileplume fused trainer had done some research on them and learned many things. Twiggy however didn't seem pleased about this either and their face scrunched up. They didn't like the arcanine man, they had far too much energy! They were loud! They should help someone else.

Isaiah looked down at them as they began to whine and he smiled gently, reaching down to boop at their nose. "We can't be picky now, we have a good act to do." He said gently.

He knew some within the police force, those who were directly above the arcanine were found in Isaiah's pocket so it wouldn't be hard to give them a small pay raise. With a small threat, perhaps some blackmail, he could get them paid what they were worth, and so that is what he would do. Turning on his heels Isaiah left the window. Yes. He would get this man his payraise, that would surely lighten his darkness just a little.
