Where I Belong

Everyone starts somewhere in their life, whether they be a rich person who gained their fame easily, or they are a struggling beggar who just barely scraped by to afford the cost of living. But all is for sure, everyone has their struggles, even if money and fame is handed to you, even if you’re sitting on the streets, hungry and alone. For Ahimoth, he had the middle life, in between poverty and wealth, a middle class citizen with simple parents and a simple house.

His father was a fisherman, having an array of pokemon to help with fishing and ocean traveling. His mother was a housewife who sold her seats to bring in some extra income. His parents were loving and he was their little miracle. Born in the outskirts as his parents were traveling back, his birth was early and a struggle on his mother’s system, but both made it out alive and healthy.

Ahimoth went to school with others, he actually was quite popular among his peers, he made friends easily and had many of them. Though not all was great, he did get picked on for having long hair, for having a slender frame. He learned to use his speed to his advantage, and his wits to hurt those that hurt him. This got him in trouble at school, and yes he was scolded for it, told to ignore them, it’d make them even ticked or not enjoyable if he went along with the insults.

He did finish his schooling with a decent grade, but didn’t go to college. He started dating his best friend at fifteen years old, the two hit off quickly and this became Ahimoth’s world. They moved in together when they were seventeen and Ahimoth ventured to the ocean with his boyfriend to gather things for sale. This is when he started his seashell collection, finding intricate and beautiful shells.

Ahimoth gained his while he was out with his boyfriend scavenging for shells, they happened upon it in the water, surprised and wary at first. Ahimoth was willing to accept the energy, and allowed it to change him. He could breathe underwater and gres small fins, but nothing to the extremes, they were happy. It stayed happy despite their struggles for the next three years. As all know, happiness tends to falter… and falter it did.

Ahimoth and his boyfriend got into their first heated and big argument at the age of twenty-one, their argument divulged into them breaking up. With tears streaking down his face, he knew better than to leave at night, but he didn’t want to stay in an empty apartment. He left home, to the beach and into the water to calm himself and relax. This was… a fate worse than he thought, and as he was grabbed and dragged down toward the depths, his body went through a change. He died for just a few seconds, maybe the max of a minute, before awakening again, fused with his Nera and managed to escape.

He left his apartment after a month when he met his boyfriend again and learned there was no reconciliation for what happened. Hurt, and feeling down, he moved around a while before settling into Wintervale. The cold was welcoming to him, he could still swim in their waters, thanks to the Nera that inhabited him. This is something he felt like he could do, something he felt… alright with accepting.

Ahimoth still lives there to this day, discovering sea shells to put up in his apartment there, to add to his collection. He sells what he finds in the ocean, whether it be just some pretty vegetation, rare items, or fish that he catches on his own. He is truly a person and always makes frequent visits to Rivertide to also get fish that Wintevale doesn’t have, and sells them as well. He met his partner pokemon during these little explorations, the little Pipsail was curious and tried to make off with his clothing, to play a prank on him.

But it didn’t get away fast enough and catch it he did, he affectionately named it Snatcher, and the two dive together into the vast depths of the ocean.

Finally, it seemed that Ahimoth had found the place he belonged, had found a job that called to him, and even a partner pokemon that would be his loyal companion and helpful scavenger. All seemed to be right with his life currently, and even though he’s still angry about the forced pera-fusing of his elemental Nera and him, he is very grateful.
