When looking for a place to sleep there were always many different things that you had to know and keep track of. Firstly, you had to go somewhere that others wouldn't be living. If an area was already occupied then you would most likely be chased. Pokemon and other humans alike were both risks in this particular department. Sometimes you could share- but it was always risky to do so.

Secondly you had to make sure it was out of sight and away from the elements. If you're out in plain view and someone stumbles across you they might try and cause problems or disturb your sleep- and if you're in the elements then of course your sleep would be poor. How were you supposed to sleep if rain or wind is pelting you? It simply wasn't an option.

The third and most important aspect was to make sure that even if you were staying out of sight, you stayed somewhere where there was light. In Brookfell the fog was always threatening to overtake the city- in some districts it would do exactly that at night so those had to be avoided at all costs.

Honey was struggling with the first thing. His arms held two chirping pokemon, a small amaura mimikyu fusion and another Corsola mimikyu. Both of them looked like small plushies and while usually there would be a third with him but they were off scouting elsewhere. It would just be them for now, them and a whole pack of Houndours.

The canine pokemon were always quite plentiful in this area, Brookfell was a perfect place for them to thrive and there was always enough trash for them to scavenge. This was one of those wild packs that ran rampant through the city, taking over an entire territory and this one in particular had a bit of a reputation for not liking people sleeping in their alleyways. As far as Honey had known he was in a section that they didn't stay in, but that was certainly a group of Houndours curling up in the alleyway.

The Amaura in his arms was limp but the Corsola was staring the pack down. Honey needed a place to sleep, and this spot wasn't the houndoor's. It had been clear not long ago and quietly the pokemon in Honey's arms began to squiggle. Their round form fought in Honey's arms and one of the wooden sticks from their back was quickly grabbed by the Amaura. "Four, this isn't the time for this." Honey whispered to them as he stared at the pack. "Do you see that one at the edge still away?"

The rest of the pack was asleep, but one Houndour was still awake keeping guard. They were infact, staring directly at Honey and his pokemon with quite a startling glare. The pokemon's lips were slowly curling up since Honey wasn't leaving instantly. "They got a scar on their side, just like the pack that ran up north. You know, the one that tried to rip number two apart in the past."

Number two was another mimikyu fusion that Honey sometimes ran around with. All of them had numbers that Honey used to use to identify them- since once upon a time they were all identical Mimikyu's. Number Four was the now fused Corsola and they gave a rather unhappy noise over the implication. Did Honey think they wouldn't be able to take them?? They could.

Number Five, the Amaura meanwhile was much more on Honey's side for this. If it was just one or two houndours then maybe they would stand a chance, but this was more than that. There was an entire pack of them and a whole pack could cause a great deal of harm. Quietly they pulled at the legs of the Corsola fusion while Honey slowly backed away.  They were starting to growl now so it was best to leave before they came in to attack.

"I don't know what they're doing over here though." he whispered quietly to his pokemon as he left. This alley used to be more the territory of a couple of rowdy poochyena's. Which admittedly weren't any better but to come across Houndours instead...  it gave him the distinct feeling something was terribly, terribly wrong. He needed a place to sleep but this would not be it. Honey turned to go towards the houndours old territory. A lot of these alleyways had such clear cut pokemon who had claimed them that any change in them was worrisome. The balance was delicate, and Honey didn't want to upset some new balance that had formed so he wanted

OBSERVATIONS

We need to make sure that the local ecosystems are healthy. Observe wild Pokemon in their natural habitat to make sure that there’s no funny business going on. If there is funny business going on, make sure you document it and don't get involved! (Or do...)
