Somebody's Hero
Sometimes he was given dirty looks when he walked the streets, other times there were appreciative glances. Every so often, he would get praise from a person, or a scoff in his direction. None of these mattered, yes being recognized and appreciated felt good. But there was a deeper sense of justice that he felt in his core. His lips curled into a smile, and his pokemon partner, Knight walked by his side. He hummed a little as he did so, stopping once in a while to take in the sights or to pet his pokemon. A breeze whipped past him as he walked along the outer edges of the quarry Brookfell was located in.
“Seems like it’s going to be a good day today, doesn’t it Knight?”
His pokemon looked at him, head tilting to the side when they had stopped petting him, but he did bark in return. “Yes!” He tried to respond happily.
They resumed their walk, but stopped when Knight seemed to take off in a direction. Aeson could barely hear the sounds of distress, and he was quick to run after his partner. The sounds became more obvious of a younger child, surely the parent was close by wasn’t she? When he rounded a corner and into one of the tunnels, he did indeed come upon a parent and her child.
“What’s the issue?” he asked quickly, almost gaining a glare from the mother, but he ignored it. “I’m an officer, surely I can help?”
The mother scoffed, which caused Knight’s eyes to narrow at her. “My daughter got her pokemon stuck.”
The reply was simple and almost curt, like she didn’t want any kind of help, but the pleading, sad look in the little girl's eyes tore at his heart. He leaned down and smiled at the young little lady. “Perhaps me and Knight can help get your pokemon, where’s it stuck at?”
Knight followed her finger, as did Aeson to see that the pokemon was stuck on a tall rock, it was shaky and seemed like it would crumble at almost any second. The skitty was scared, afraid to come down for the tower might fall.
“Don’t worry, we’ll get her down for you. After all, an officer’s job is to serve their citizens and keep them stress free. What kind of officer would I be if I ignored you?”
The mother didn’t seem pleased, but waited around to see if Aeson could get the pokemon down. He talked with his pokemon partner, trying to explain to him what he wanted him to do. The structure was too wobbly for Aeson to climb up there, but a creature that was lighter and nimble could have no problem. Knight was ready, he responded with a bark and approached the wobbly rock structure. Aeson was aware that it may fall before Knight could get the pokemon, but he did have a plan for that as well.
As Knight clambered up the rocky structure, some of the rocks falling here and there and clashing against the ground, Aeson sighed and watched with nerves. Knight drew closer and closer to the little Skitty, seeming to converse to try and keep the pokemon calm. Though as he reached the skitty, the structure had started to give away. He tossed the pokemon quickly, using his paws to yeet it off, as the structure crumbled under his paws. Aeson was quick to dart for the cat, jumping for the skitty and he managed to catch it, but skidded some on the ground.
He was a little bruised - not bad though - and Knight was fine, being older and more resilient he managed to get down on the other side of the structure. Aeson reunited the skitty to her owner, and smiled at the large smile and innocent eyes of the younger girl. The mother even seemed slightly surprised. The hug he got warmed his heart and seemed to make his bruises hurt a little less, he was sure it was the same feeling for his pokemon too.
“You both have a good day!”
Knight gave a bark in goodbye, and the two were ready to continue on their stroll of Broofell, the smiles large on both of their faces.
He didn’t need to be recognized, he didn’t need to be appreciated, but making anothers’ day, making it safe for the next generation, that was the satisfaction he got. If he was someone’s hero, even if it was just a childs for a few seconds, that was enough joy and reassurance that he chose the right path in life.

Words that are in italics with quotation marks is the pokemon trying to speak. The trainer will not understand them, but may somewhat respond correctly due to the body language of the pokemon.
If there's italics without quotation marks, the nthat is just the trainer or the pokemons' thoughts that aren't voiced directly or outloud ~
It's just how I write them and wanted to explain to whichever mod may read or look this over XD
