Iris, while out exploring with her friends, heard a pained cry and Spearow going off on something. Without thinking, the young girl went racing to the fray and found a Swablu being attacked by territorial Spearow. She rushed in, and while her friends' Pokemon distracted most of the flock, Iris scooped up the nearly unconscious Pokemon and took off, with some of the irate birds right on her tail.

So started a unique bond between the girl and Babbu.
