FLM - Continuing the Job
"Okay. Run me through."
Diana spoke quietly, her TD flashing as she communicated over a call to her hacker, Nori. He repeated the instructions back to her, and she followed them to a T. The goal was to double check the systems, see if there were any faults or errors placed within the firewall of the Wintervale's propulsion systems. Previously, she'd complained audibly to herself- and to Vewil- about the thought of someone targeting these systems instead of committing a normal, petty crime. Would have more to gain from that, than from this.
Vewil slithered around the computers and the systems, his tongue flicking as he scoured the area. Just in case there was someone, or something, hiding. It proved to be eventful as a small pokemon scurried away from the snake as he did. Ofcourse, the Seviper chased- its heavy coils and body knocking the computers.
"Hey!"
Diana shouted, distracted from her task as she watched the Seviper chase something. Looking back hurriedly she growled to herself and disconnected from the computer.
"A second, Nori!"
She pulled away and chased afer the Seviper and the small pokemon. The clack of her heels audible in the smaller hallway, chasing the two even after they burst through the door and went out into the harsh snow and cold again. It was then that Diana saw the pokemon properly- some sort of Beedrill/Machop fusion. She recognized the traits of the pokemon, so it was easily identified. What she didn't see was its owner-- at least until she felt the cold steel of a knife against her throat.
"Now whatsa' pretty lass like ya' doin' here."
She heard the person speak into her ear- a woman with a rugged voice. Diana clicked her tongue under her breath and closed her eyes, concentrating.
"Meowth got yer tongue, gorgeous?"
"Oh, shut up."
The press of the knife tightened before she heard the woman whimper behind her. With heavy concentration, Diana had found that she could surpass some of the suppressor's effects. Ekans formed from her scalp, hissing and snapping at the woman holding her in lock. It proved to be enough of a distraction to allow Diana to violently whip her head back into a headbutt- knocking the woman straight out cold. The Ekans' disappeared nearly as soon as they appeared and she fixed her coat, looking down to the woman on the ground.
A cry of the Beedrill/Machop caught her attention, watching as Vewil coiled around it and incapacitated it for her to decide what they were going to do. He waited patiently- but without its' trainer the poor pokemon didn't want to fight.
"Let it go."
As soon as Vewil did, the small creature ran over to the woman and stood by it protectively.
"Watch over them- I'll make a snapshot of her face and the pokemon and hand it over to Ethos as we hand her over to the police. That way they can keep track of her movements, in case she has any acquaintances."
"Sevvvviper."
Her hand reached for her neck, rubbing quietly over the spot where the knife had been before turning back to the computers. Now. The woman had either already sabotaged the systems, placed in some form of malware that would disable it over time or on command. Or-- she was stupid. And couldn't figure out how to do it. Judging from their interaction, Diana wouldn't at all be surprised if it were the latter. She walked back to the machinery, dialing Nori up again and this time finishing her work.
Eventually, after about half an hour to and hour of checking, Diana had finally checked the entire system. It turned out there was a slight malware placed- not enough to trigger anything badly but still. She got rid of it, transferred the credits over to Nori as per silent agreement before turning away.
At the entrance, Vewil had surrounded the woman and her pokemon still, coming to an understanding with the creature. When he saw her, he perked up and wrapped himself around the woman so he could position her in a way that he'd carry her. Once lifted high enough, Diana reached to tie the woman's hands behind his back- shushing the pokemon when it called out to its trainer in concern before leading the way back.
"And Ethos' trust in me grows more and more."
She spoke with a smirk, pulling her gloves on. One step closer to using them, the way they'd use her.
