Pancake Business
Klaus had grown up fairly well sheltered and protected by his family surrounding him to keep him oblivious to the on goings of the current world and it never did him favors as he branched out into the real world and real responsibilities - Even if his parents still paid for everything including various house staff such as maids, butlers and cook but as time ticked on and his boyfriend moved in, he began to feel an almost guilt creeping on seeing how everyone bustled around, Salami included as he just laid back and watched it happen. Salami had been bugging him to get a job and he had before quickly being fired for lack of work, and he knew the magikarp man was working on him getting a job with his current cafe. In the mean time, he was laying back and just watching television with his beloved pokemon on his lap. Spicy's head was large enough to take up all of his torso and lap but Serrano managed to find solace in the place under the Tyhphanine's fluff, while Piri was coiled up in his shirt. The television was playing some random anime and he felt boredom gnawing at his concious as he swapped channels before one caught his eye. A cooking show it seemed? He leaned in, watching how the recipe was for some fancy stuffed pancakes that looked divine to the sweets loving salazzle who's tail began to wag in interest. As he made notes of the recipe, the method he saw them use to flip it, to fill it with the custard. He made it seem so easy. So Klaus with zero cooking experience sat up, earning curious looks from his gaggle of pokemon. Even Ghost who was on the foot of the bed stared up with some clicking sounds, the shadow pokemon seeming to apparate out of a puddle of black oily shadow. He looked at them all and tapped Spicy's head to make him lift it, before reaching to rub Piri's head. "It shouldn't be hard, if some random man on television can do it right?" He said with probably wayy to much confidence for a man who has never actually cooked as he slipped off his bed and made it to the kitchen. His miniature squad followed him minus Ghost who just curled back up in their pile of shadowy gunk and ignored the excitement of the rest of the pokemon.
The usual cooks had all given him worried smiles as they cleared room for him in the kitchen, watching from a reasonable distance away and he couldn't understand why. It was just pancakes? How bad could it really be? Turns out, really bad. Within 20 minutes he was in tears staring at the ruined pan. It had been taking forever to heat up and so he had Spicy contribute and well... It went up in flames, literally. He had a burn on his arm and was an inconsolable mess as Lily, a maid and nanny he had known since he was a toddler and had followed him to work at his current house, quietly patched his arm while giving him soothing words and telling him it'd be alright. It was an almost humbling experience in a way, to know not everything will always go his way.
