Learning to make a mess
Word Count: 639
... Was he joking right now? He had to be joking right now- Honey was staring blankly down at his apron and his hair. Everything had been clean until a moment ago- sort of. There had been a mess made but not involving him. Some icing that had been spilled onto the countertop which was promptly going to be cleaned up but the moment he went to do so this damned old man had flung more icing at him and made it worse. Now, not only was there icing on the countertop but there was also icing in his hair and on his clothing.
Honey came to this man's house to learn how to bake a cake, specifically a mimikyu one. Honey was not here to get icing flung at him and he almost felt betrayed by the fact it had gone this way. The baker before him however was looking smug, greyed hairs filled their face and it was all curled up into a very annoying expression. If they weren't the love of Noir's life, he might have attacked them for doing this. Instead all he could manage was a very quiet, and very pitiful little "why?"
The man however, only looked more amused by the sad question and promptly were to reach down to stick his hand in the icing that they had spent the last half hour making before flinging it at him once more, An act that earned a slightly upset squeak. "You're making a mess!!" He couldn't help the disgruntled complaint but the baker only smirked more.
"..So? Is there something wrong with making a mess?" they asked and their tone only served to further rile up Honey. Yes. Yes!! There was everything wrong with making a mess!
"You wouldn't like it if I flung icing at you."
"Wouldn't I?"
Honey was at a loss of words as they seemed to see no problem with this. Then he saw them slowly dip there hand into the icing once more and no. Absolutely not. The young man growled at the sight and quickly reached forward to steal the bowl of icing away from John, pulling it close to his chest and retaliating.
It hurt him a little inside, to purposefully make a mess like this but he felt like there was a point to prove now. Icing was tossed at John and while he expected them to recoil the same way he had they only seemed more delighted at what Honey had done. A loud laugh came from them and they reached to the side to grab a cup of flour- which he brought forward and promptly turned upside down to cascade down in a horrible avalanche.
The little bit of hurt that Honey had felt now turned into something being completely shattered inside him as he watched the white powder hit the ground and spread everywhere like a plague. He couldn't stand a mess, but at the same time he felt like there had to be a limit to this mans ability to withstand a mess at the same time. If John was wanting to play this game, then they could play this game!!
The entire bowl of icing that Honey had stolen away from the baker was dropped upside down to join in with the spilled flour and soon food was flying in every direction. It wasn't something Honey had ever done before. No one had ever stopped him in his cleaning, nor had anyone ever tried to encourage him to make a mess but that seemed to be this man's sole objective. For everything that they broke, or everything that was covered in food he was praised and given a very excited roar of encouragement. It only pushed Honey on further until soon the entire house was a mess beyond just the food.
