Rank-Up: New Recipe

Vasuki walked around his house after getting some ingredients in Rivertide, a small show on his face as the snakes watched him with curious looks. They could see he had flour, vegetables and a few other things, probably for a dish, but what was he going to make?

Noticing their confusion, Vasuki grinned and said happily, "I'm going to try a new recipe that I learned a few days ago. I want to try and perfect it before I add it to the stall."
Vasuki grabbed the oil he was using and put it in the pan with the pork belly and cooked it for a while before adding the small prawns he had. While it was cooking, he started chopping the vegetables, since he had time. When that was cooked enough, he added the vegetables and cabbage and began to stir-fry until they were soft and the meat was cooked through.

When the main part was done, he started working on the broth, which was more difficult for him because he sometimes forgot to do it at home because of his Pokemon. He added what he was supposed to and got the noodles ready to cook on the side with the Beoth while he waited for it to boil.

Unfortunately, a noise caught his attention and he went to see what it was. Xuihcoatl seemed to be bothering Tiamat, making her quite unhappy and angry with him. Vasuki went after both of them, especially Cuihcoatl, and even scolded Invidia a little for being there to watch over them.

Slightly panicked at spending too much time with them and not with his food, he ran back to the broth, barely getting to it in time before it started to boil on him, meaning the milk in it would have curdled on him.
"If this doesn't work out, I know three Pokemon who could be in trouble," Vasuki warned.

Not that they would be punished severely, Vasuki couldn't do that to his Pokemon partners anyway. He turned everything off and drained the noodles from the water they were in. He poured the broth into a single bowl and then grabbed some of the noodles and swirled them around as he placed them in the bowl, the broth barely covering the top. Finally, he added the cooked shrimp and pieces of pork belly, being careful to put the pork belly in first, then the shrimp, the shrimp lining the side of the bowl and crossing their tails. The pork belly was placed on top of the noodles, surrounded by the broth and the bed of noodles.

The smell wafting from the noodles made his mouth water and his tongue tingle, even though he hadn't taken a bite yet. He waited for it to cool down a bit and for the meat and noodles to absorb some of the flavour from the broth.

His Pokemon waited for Vasuki to take a bite, wondering if it was good and if he was proud of himself. There was silence and Vasuki swallowed the food, his face remaining expressionless as he waited for any aftertaste to set in.
His grin widened and he looked at his pokemon, almost a little too ecstatically.

"It turned out well. The seasoning needs to be changed a bit, but it's not bad," he hummed. He was very proud of himself, despite the slight distraction of his Pokemon!
