Too much Hair [ Labor of Love]

'He's like a harmless cat, just ignore him.'

 

'He'll get distracted eventually.'

 

These are the texts that Cica received when he asked why there was a strange man staring at him from behind a plant, and it was rather an amusing answer. A harmless little stray orange cat~ What was a little kitten doing staring at him so intensely? As they pulled a face he just couldn't help but softly call to them and they jumped just like how a cat would if you startled them. It earned a somewhat louder laugh from Cica as he waited for them to get a hold of themselves and stand up straight. 

 

They looked sheepish over the fact that they had been caught and fidgeted where they were, standing in the hallway awkwardly. "There's nothing that's displeasing me." They said quietly, but it wasn't very convincing. Cica had watched them, he'd seen their whole face scrunch up in some form of disgust but even so he didn't press. 

 

"If you say so~ Is there something I can help you with? I couldn't help but notice you staring from across the room." 

 

Honey didn't reply right away, their eyes just looked down and to the side as they shifted back and forth. They needed a moment it seemed to think, and Cica would give it to them. He'd come here early and still had around ten more minutes before his scheduled meeting with their boss so Honey could take as much time as he wanted to answer. Eventually they seemed to get a hold of himself and wandered forward to come in beside Cicada and he crouched down on the ground beside them. Only one chair was outside of Leon's office- and that chair was in use so Honey went on the ground. 

 

"... Why don't you have your hair up? Doesn't it get dirty like this?" He asked and Cica just quirked an eyebrow. That was what they were so curious about?? That's what they were thinking about when their face scrunched up as if they had just stepped in shit? They were just curious about whether or not his hair got dirty like this? 

 

"It does get dirty like this." He confirmed to them "I usually try to keep it up when I'm out walking but I let it down since I won't be going anywhere for awhile." 

 

It was the truth and Honey quieted down at the answer. "... But this is a normal hallway. It's still dirty, people walk down here all the time."

 

"I suppose~"

 

"And it's not like Leon's office is really the most clean either."

 

"Perhaps not~"

 

Honey stared blankly at Cica's answers. Trying to comprehend the lack of care about their hair and carefully he reached a hand out to touch at it. Despite how it was hanging down on the ground it was soft and silky and without a knot to be found. Suspicious. "... What about just cutting it, if you're not putting it up and it's dragging through everything it might be better off just being cut." They were really concerned about Cica's hair and it was quite the amusing thing to listen to.
