[Gift] Radio static and Coffee
Nothing ever drove Noir more then just his job and eventually when he adopted Honey. If he had a free hour it was filled with non stop working, planning, plotting or taking quick naps in hotels, outside, anywhere he could shut his eyes for a few hours before hopping right back on the grind because to have free time was to mean he was failing his employers or even worse, Honey, by setting a bad example and risking being unable to provide. It was all he ever knew for so long, and it became even harder to upkeep when the fog came and made everything so much more dangerous, so much riskier. His constant exhaustion was over ruled by the constant need to keep going and work harder. Honey never could stop him, his associates encouraged and discouraged it without meaning too and the only times he was rested and felt fully safe was in the house that belonged to the grumpy man that roamed the street for abandoned pokemon, and in Noir's case, stupid men or women laying out in the open injured in the crime hotspot of the region. Most wouldn't consider this a good method of flirting and trying to induce a relationship but Noir's love sick ass and attraction to the man kept him going.
There had been the bout of denial, rejection of his own thoughts, then the failed flirting mixed with denials and it had been a whole mess for the man, but in the end? He had been asked a few times if it was worth it, particularly by Celeste who had been the one to comfort the upset noivern trainer. He had just laughed at the question and he found himself now in the man's kitchen, staring at him thoughtfully. John was cooking and listening to the radio and grumbling about the going ons of the day and he knew it was. He stretched his arms out on the table, laying his head sideways on them as he crossed them to contently watch the man cook and sip coffee that Noir had made for him and he felt his tail sway contently and warmth bubble through him. He hadn't known how he had lived without this feeling for so long. John didn't notice the staring, now actively grouching at something happening on the radio but Noir hadn't been listening and had just been staring at this man, too overwhelmed with love to do anything else and could just stare in awe that he had bagged someone so amazing, handsome, funny, talented. His tail swaying had turned into excited thwaps against the tile and it wasn't until it accidentally knocked the, thankfully empty, trash can over that John startled and looked over at his husband at the table and his eyes trailed over to his tail, now quickly tucking away to curl around Noir's leg as the man felt embarrassment creep up on his face.
"What's got ya all excited?" He mused with a quirked eye brow at Noir who didn't break his gaze, just shifting and tilting his head to get a better view at the man from the table. "I was just thinking..." Noir said thoughtfully, tail already twitching again as John came over to sit by him and placed some food in front of him but Noir made no move for it yet. "Thinkin' about...?" John pushed, leaning over to the noivern fused man and Noir moved himself over to grab the man's face, gently. "I'm just so happy to be married to you." He said quietly, pressing his forehead against the other man's and closing his eyes. He felt John's hand, him having removed his cybernetic since he was at home, reach up to gently cup his own face and move it to kiss him and his tail was back in full wagging mode and he could hear John's going too. "I love you." Noir purred, leaning against him and he enjoyed the sound of the other man's husky, gentle laugh. "I love ya too." John said contently, pressing another kiss on the man's forehead.
