Harmful Herbs

Being in prison was the woorrrsssst! It was so boring in here. Ganon barely even did anything. He just took something, and played. Mera didn't even ask for it back, and Link was playing with them. Ugg.

Mera was starting to have second thoughts as she sat on the train. Deku has really been coming around lately. He went from staying awake all night, to being somewhat well behaved. Rika, on the other hand, was bouncing around the train kart investigating everything. "Rita! Chik! Rita!" she gasped at every knew sight she saw. Mera got up, and put Rika onto her lap. The little Chikikarp continued to bounce around on her lap. "Ri! Ri! Chik! Ri!" Rika was rapid firing questions at Mera, and Mera had no idea what.

Deku and Rika could barely contain themselves. The two were clearly ticking energy bombs waiting to run across the train and get into a fight. Mera sighed and returned both of them. Deku nearly immediately popped out. He began shouting angrily. Mera returned him again and held his pokeball shut. Was bringing them a mistake? Mera was now alone. The rest of the train ride was creepily silent.

Finally, Mera was in Wintervale. She hoped that Deku and Rika could help. She let go of Deku's pokeball. Upon being let out, he immediately shouted "Maku! Hi! Ta! Maku!" He was bored and pissed. Mera immediately let out Rika. Rika rushed over to Deku and jumped up on him. "Ri! Rita!" The anger immediately faded from Deku. Mera let out a sigh of relief, crisis averted.

"Okay guys, we're looking for a plant. It looks kind of like Ganon. DO NOT TOUCH IT, okay? Just let me know where you found it." Mera explained.

"Ri!" Rika proudly nodded. The only word she understood was Ganon, where was Ganon? They were fun.

Mera began putting on gloves. She gave some to Deku too, who stared at his hands in confusion. "Ri! Ri! Ri! Ri!" Rika circled Mera, asking where Ganon was in the only way she knew how too.

Mera crouched down and massaged Rika on the neck "Aw, Rika, you can have fun in the snow, just don't touch any spooky plants."

That was weird, there weren't any mentions of Ganon there. "Ri! Ri! Ri!" Rika shouted. Why, didn't Mera understand.

Deku saw a purple ball poke out of Mera's bag. Deku went over to it and tossed it into the air. "Wait!-" Mera tried explaining, but it was too late.

Finally free! And it was cold! Ganon wondered who turned on the cold, probably Mera, she was a stick in the mud.

Rika ran over to Ganon and tackled them. "Ri!!!~" the Chikikarp exclaimed in pure delight. Deku jumped in the dog pile.

Ganon smiled. These two knew what's up. He playfully wrestled with them.

Mera let out a sigh of relief, "Deku, please keep Ganon in line, okay?" She wasn't sure how much she trusted having Ganon and Rika out here like this with minimal supervision, but the smile on Rika's face brightened her day.

And with that, it was time for Mera to focus on her mission, collecting and removing this stranger new plant.

Ganon and Rika both raced each other in the snow, each trying to be the fastest. Deku had never seen trees like these before. He cheerfully took to training his strength against them. Ganon saw and sharply turned around, leaving Rika in a layer of snow, and scratched the tree right above where Deku punched. Seeing the giant mark, Rika charged at the tree full force. The impact sent her reeling back as her world went dizzy.

Mera had finally found some of the plants. They felt very errire. She began putting samples into the basket she brought. Mera decided to try to put in as many as would fit. The less of these plants that stayed behind here, the better.

Ganon sniffed the air. He smelt something comforting. He rushed over to the scent. He saw beautiful plants that looked just like the nothing! How perfect. He went in to taste them. They tasted good. They filled Ganon up with energy! He began munching on the whole stalk. Rika and Deku had to try this. But he realized that he already ate the entire thing. He sniffed around for more.

"Maku! Hita!" Deku shouted. Where did Ganon run off to. This wasn't like him, unless he was hiding in wait. "Ri! Ri? Ri? Ri!" Rika trailed behind Deku, curious and not really understanding what was going on.

Ganon heard their voices. He rushed back, nothing weeds in mouth. He proudly plopped the plant in front of them. They just looked at it. Arg! They were being so slow, so slow that Ganon went and ate a bit of it.

Deku didn't trust the plant, something just felt very off about it. Ganon growled at his refusal. The one time Ganon decides give a gift and this is how he treated Ganon? Ganon was never going to give anything ever again.

Rika on the other hand immediately went in to try it. It felt like she ate a cloud on fire. She immediately spat it out, but she felt sick. "Ri..." She collapsed.

Ganon tilted his head in confusion. Deku rushed over and picked up Rika. Rika felt sick, like there was a poisonous snake crawling through her.

"MAKU! MAKU!" Deku shouted at the top of his lungs for Mera. Ganon was just very confused. Why was Rika acting like that? Why was Deku so angry?

Deku finally saw Mera, "MAKU!"

Mera felt sick to her stomach when she saw a weakened Rika in Deku's arms. Surely she touched the plant. Mera immediately returned her. "Deku, we have to get to blackthorn, now!"

Mera nearly forgot Ganon until she saw them. They were probally behind this. Mera imedately returned them. There wasn't time. She hopped on the soonest train to Grovehart.

She texted blackthorn while she was on the train. "Hey I think one of my pokemon, a water and grass type, touched one of those plants. She looked pretty sick, what should I do?"

"Can you bring her to a pokemon center?"

"No, I'm on a train heading to grovehart rn."

"As soon as you get here, get her over to me, I should be able to take care of her."

Mera panicked. The rest of the day went over in a blur. She took Rika over to blackthorn. He examined her, and the plants.

Mera was relieved when Blackthorn told her there was no permanent damage. Her mouth had some burn marks in it, but the illness should subside in a few days. This was the last time she was going to leave Rika and Ganon alone together.
