Emilio hated it. He hated how active the two different teams were and the way that they acted- from Cynic to Ethos, both of them made his skin crawl uneasily and he knew that they were always wandering around. There eyes were on everything, they saw everything, they knew everything- there was no where in all of Reigns Rest you could go to fully avoid them and their infleunces. Perhaps if this was another region like his home Johto he would be able to find some where off in the country side to escape- but that wasn't possible in Reignsrest. Everyone was forced into these specific cities, and he just had to deal with the fact that danger was around every corner.
He was sitting up on the top of a building in Rivertide staring blankly at the world. The brown haired man had just wanted to watch the ocean for a little bit and dream of the day he would be able to cross it again and get home- but instead of watching the ocean his gaze was focused below him where he could see a couple of people scrambling around. One of them he knew, they had bright orange hair that was able to be seen miles off and stood out among the crowd. Well. Their hair and that silly Magikarp hat. they'd served him at a cafe he visited quite a few times and throughout all his visits he had learned one very specific piece of information that he really wished he hadn't known. Salami? He worked with Cynic.
The very same Cynic who from the rumors had attempted to blast Groudon into pieces and the thought made his discomfort rise up all over again. It was such a violent approach to dealing with the guardian, one that felt a bit excessive in comparison to the alternatives and he hated the thought of it. In that regard Ethos seemed a bit better but still... Neither of them had his trust and his mind briefly went to the notices that had been posted around. The authorities wanted help finding team Cynic members or any vigilantes. Any and all help was desired and he heard there might even be a bit of a reward if the information was accurate- and. His information was accurate even if he didn't have any real proof that Salami was a Cynic member. His eyes lingered a little bit longer on the magikarp fusion as he pulled up his camera to aim it. For the most part Salami wasn't dangerous, he always seemed exceptionally kind and friendly actually! Sometimes at the café he would sneak in free goodies for his pokemon but knowing that they were with Cynic still made him nervous. On the outside he was nice, but on the inside he was probably dangerous and a murderer right? A drug dealer maybe? He would have been one of the ones who tried to blast Groudon into smithereens.
Salami's wander came to a pause beside a stall that was selling fish apparel and Emilio watched how they pulled at a Gyarados themed hoodie. Was this the right thing? To turn Salami over to the authorities? Would he know that it was him? Surely there were others out there who also knew where this man's allegiances lied, they wouldn't be able to figure out exactly who dropped the leak. Especially not in Rivertide, perhaps if they were still in Brookfell things would be different as many of the cops were corrupt- but this was Rivertide so with a large and deep breath he began to take a few pictures.
As long as no one asked how he knew this man then it would be okay and had the potential to lead to a rewarded. It would all be okay. The camera shutter flickered a few times as he got some shots of them. A few were blurry so he had to take more than he intended and spend more time on this than he was comfortable with. Emilio could only pray that Salami wouldn't notice him before he was done and it was feasible to do so- Salami hadn't noticed them yet after all. He just needed for this fishy fusion to do one turn, to give him one front angle view and then he could scurry away none the wiser. But, as Salami did turn his blood ran cold.
You could never fully tell where exactly the Magikarp was looking thanks to the hair covering there eyes, but as they turned around away from the small fish apparel stall he could have swore that they were staring directly at him.
His heart froze in his chest and he could feel his breath picking up. They were definitely staring at him right? They were looking in his direction- panic flared in him and his fight or flight instinct was instantly activated. Smiling he lowered his camera and gave a small wave to the man below while pushing himself up to back away. He would just, escape now. They wouldn't give any chase right? It wasn't anything suspicious? He was always taking pictures, pictures was his very livelihood infact! So there was nothing weird about this but just as he started to turn away he saw Salami put away the hoody that they were looking at and turn to wander in his direction.
Right, he was just going to run now. Quickly he turned to slide down the back roof of the building he had been perched on and down into the alley way. Would Salami turn left? Would he turn right? Was he going to get chased? Emilio went to the right, darting down the alleyway in hopes he would avoid Salami but as he turned the corner it wasn't an open space he was met with, it was the chest of the man he was hoping to avoid. Squeaking he slammed directly into them and fell down in a daze, to sit on the ground while staring up at them with wide eyes. Damn, he should have gone left shouldn't he?
