Journal Entry: My Second Pokemon!
There’s a little home here in Grovehart that has so many pokemon and children that I like to stop by there from time to time and interact with them. Today was going to be one of those days because the house had adopted a new child into its care, and this one was a pokemon! It had been a bit since they last got to adopt a pokemon and I was eager to see what kind it was going to be. So eager in fact, that I rushed out of the house without my backpack which has all of my survival tools inside of it. I usually take it with me everywhere since you never know when you may need it.
Lucky for me, as I was half-way toward the house, sprinting I stopped to catch my breath a bit longer than my other stops and noticed the weight wasn’t on my shoulders anymore. I thought I would have to run back to the house and get it, but beside me was Grimm, staring at me with his bored, red eyes and holding the backpack in his mouth. I was so thankful for him, that I ended up picking him up and giving him a hug, which had caused him to yelp out in shock - not in pain.
After I had set him down and placed the backpack on my shoulders, I looked at Grimm and nodded. We were off to go see the pokemon. Through the months of having Grimm he has opened up a bit more to me, and it’s easier for me to figure out what he’s thinking. I still don’t understand him entirely and I probably never will, just as he will never entirely understand me. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have specific cues or hints the other gives through our body language or tone in our voice.
After a bit longer of running, we were finally at the large white house with several natural vines hanging down and around the building, cascading down it like a waterfall with an array of colors and scents. I approached the door and knocked on it, giving the two behind it a smile when it was opened. There was a greeting and hugs given, a treat to Grimm as they said hello to him, which he happily accepted the free food and put up with the head pat. I finally got to see their new pokemon though, the little one was so adorable! I just wanted to hug the little thing, I’m not kidding as I say just how cute it was!
It was the first time I’d seen a Cutiefly-Carbink fusion before, the little one was so excited to meet us that it fluttered out with its diamond-like wings to greet us!
Grimm was opposed to playing with the small pokemon, I think he was afraid to hurt it, but he kept his gruff ‘no talk me angy’ type of attitude that he had and sat away from the other baby pokemon. It didn’t work for long however, due to the other canid pokemon going to pester him until he started to play with them.
I made sure to spend several hours with all the pokemon there, handing out food and brushing them as well as playing with those that came by. For a little adoption and foster center for the pokemon, the couple there helped them, kept them fed and well groomed, and allowed people to come and adopt them if they wished. I haven't adopted one from them yet, but now I had my eye on a fusion after I had played with her for a long while, I decided to go and speak with the couple.
Not only was I passing the time, since I had nothing to do that day, I was also interested in adopting this child so she could be part of mine and Grimm’s family, much to Grimm’s dismay. The dog-bird hybrid gave me a pleading look that almost seemed to beg me not to, but I grinned and responded with “I can't help it, Grimm.”
He huffed in defeat and seemed to saunter off to the door, pouting and waiting to go, maybe he thought the little Cutiefly-Carbink fusion would take up all of his attention - which wouldn’t happen mind you - I love Grimm too much to treat him any differently.
There wasn’t much of a process when our TDs connected together and I paid the fee they requested for the little one. I held out a friend ball to her cutiefly with a large smile and allowed her to touch the pokeball herself.
I hadn’t expected to get a new pokemon partner today, and I would have to think of a name for her later, most definitely.
The day was starting to come to an end and me and Grimm walked off as the sun was setting, casting a light over the two of us. I hummed a moment as a name came to mind for my new pokemon.
I would come to call her Opal, due to the coloration of the gemstones in her wings and on her head. Short and sweet, to the point as well.
