Journal Entry: My Goals and Dreams

At first my goals were simple and tunnel-visioned; I wanted to be a pokemon researcher and observer, to discover and find new things out about the pokemon that we live with and any new pokemon that may be yet discovered! As we as fusions and how that affects a pokemons’ form, morphology, dimorphism, and personality. There are many topics that I could look into, many topics that I could focus on, and yet I still have not chosen a single topic. I have been struggling to figure out what kind of scientist and researcher I want to be, just what pokemon species I want to focus on observing and learning about. There is an unlimited possibility set before me, and those choices have become even harder due to something I have discovered.

 I learned something that I want to strive for to achieve. I don’t only want to be one of the best researchers out there, noticed for my intellect and compassion for pokemon, but I also want to be able to help those afflicted by the miasma if at all possible. I’ve heard the rumor of the strange pokemon that came from the fog, the ones that others have been calling shadow pokemon. I’ve seen a few around in Grovehart, the ones that have been captured by humans and unable to be purified from their affliction.

You have no idea how troublesome this is to know these pokemon have been hurting for… maybe years upon years! Or well… however long the miasma has been around. They seem to be easily angered and temperamental, but it is even a risk having this pokemon which makes studying them extremely hard. Grimm seems to be always worried every time I ask the owner if I can try to study it more. But there is a reason why I’m so encapsulated by this affliction, I never in my life want to see pokemon suffering if there’s something that humans can do about it to help it.

There has to be something that we can do with the technological advances that we have today, we can put cores and TDs inside of humans as well as other cybernetic enhancements, secret weapons that are hidden within the body and that are illegal. What is stopping us from finding a way to help cure these pokemon? Surely the right herbs, the right soluble mixture, there just has to be something that can be done! Alas it is not feasible to try any of these methods on the shadow pokemon yet, doing so would bring more pain than needs to be brought.

Maybe just spending time with a caring trainer over time can also alleviate the affliction they feel from their shadow illness, there is nothing set in stone yet, and too many possibilities to form proper hypotheses with such little of the creatures to be checked. 

I hope to one day, possibly be able to help or to be the one to maybe help find a cure for these pokemon. I will strive to do what I can as a researcher and as a human, pokemon should not need to suffer, nor do humans.

Once the shadow pokemons’ illness is cured, then perhaps we can spread this cure to other things in the future. But all of this is just speculation, again my wishful dreams and hopes that what I’m doing… or what any scientist is doing, we can find a humane way to help them.

I know I have to take bitty steps to make this dream a reality, and so there are smaller goals that I must first achieve before I go on to get to the higher ones. I need to either make a name for myself first with my research, or see if a big company will take me on and teach me, treat me as an apprentice of sorts. I’m not sure where in Grovehart I should start, I’m sure there’s many places here dedicated to research and observation. After that I could start more thorough studies of the miasma and the shadow pokemon, as well as those fog-touched herbs I have heard about from some of the locals! That should probably be the next thing that I study in my little lab in my apartment. There’s a note to myself I’m placing in this journal; make sure you don’t play with any concoctions that can be volatile. I don’t need anyone in the vicinity thinking a voltorb used explosion…. again….
