[SGE]Sylvangloam...

I was always curious about the forest that was beyond Grovehart, I had seen it multiple times when we moved here, the large mushroom like trees, the glowing of the night time. I wanted to go out and explore it when I was younger, but my mother always told me it was too dangerous, she worried for me easily. It has been… many years since then and if I am going to be a researcher, then I do need to explore all the areas, mostly the cities, and get a feel for them. I can also scout potential job areas maybe, right now being a Freelance Researcher and a slight musician on the side isn’t awful, but… well it sure is daunting sometimes.

Grimm stepped beside of me, we had just exited out of the vehicle that brought us here, my mother dropped me off though she exclaimed how worried she was and everything, she didn’t try to stop me. Opal came from underneath my hair and gave me a look, a questioning gaze, but I smiled gently to her.

“Don’t worry,” I said in confidence, my gray eyes settled on the mushroom forest before me. The large trees hung over our heads, the glow was reflecting off of our faces, I had never been so enamored by a place before, I just wanted to leap through some of the grass, see what pokemon was within, there was… well a lot of things that I was feeling, but there was some main questions that I felt nagging the back of my head, questions that I wanted to find answers to.

What made the mushroom trees glow like they did, how did they gain their bioluminescence properties? Why could no one live in the forest, why did everything change around each time one entered the forest. What magical powers or… radiation was within Sylvangloam? Was it meant to be an experimental fake forest for the life of pokemon to grow and cultivate them so they could be observed without human intervention and issues. But then again, that didn’t make any sense to me either, why would scientists create a fake forest that is forever changing and always confusing?

I stopped half-way into the forest and rested my back against one of the large mushroom trees, Grimm laid beside me, while Opal laid on my head. I hadn’t been traveling through the forest long, but I was starting to feel sleepy. My eyes were growing heavy and through blurry vision I saw Grimm yawn as well. I wasn’t sure what came over me, to want to rest there on the forest floor, in potential danger. I couldn’t find my instincts for too much longer, and slowly my eyelids drooped and my head bobbed, I couldn’t fight this anymore. Eventually…. Everything became dark around me and quiet, a peace I’ve never felt before.

I could have sworn I only dozed off for a couple of minutes, but when I opened my eyes it was much later in the day, early evening to say the least. Not only that, but some of the pokemon from the forest were staring at us, as if trying to examine us or seeing if we had any treats to give them? That’s when I noticed the backpack I had was in their hands, some of the pokemon trying to figure out how to open it and get into it. Angrily I stood up rather abruptly, and pointed my finger at the pokemon trying to get into my backpack.

“Let that go!” I shouted at them, hoping to startle them, but that didn’t seem to work, they stared at me, and moved to take off.

This exploration had taken a turn for the worse as I worked on retrieving my backpack with Grimm and Opal at my sides. There was a struggle but not really a pokebattle at least! I secured my backpack and caused some of the pokemon to scatter off in fear, and I wrapped it back around my shoulder.

“I think I’ve had enough of exploring Sylvangloam.” I sighed, eyes casting down to Grimm who barked in agreement and then to Opal, who nodded her head up and down. That settled it then, we’d leave Sylvangloam and go back to Grovehart, probably spend some time with my mother and let Opal and Grimm eat some good food.

I had to call her up on the TD, and explained to her my location and where I was, which was right where I had been dropped off at. As I waited for her to pick me up, I turned around to look at the mysterious, intriguing forest and the ominous glow of the mushroom trees inside.
