[RTE]Journal Entry: Rivertide

It didn’t take me long to realize as soon as I stepped foot into Rivertide it wawa going to be loud and proud as a city it seemed. The colors of the buildings and even the cobblestones that decorated the streets were in your face colors. Not only that, the music one could hear from a mile away playing was another eye catching thing. I had been in Grovehart before when I met Juke here, him and his little companion were just a hilarious little bunch! Not that I minded hanging out with him and Forrest, it was interesting learning about someone who was nera-infused and getting to ask them questions that I haven’t asked anyone before.

I sighed though, one hand tucked under my elbow, and my hand rested under my chin, Grimm barked at me to get my attention and motioned with his head a moment. Opal sitting on his head so she wouldn’t have to beat her wings as much to keep up with us. I looked in his direction and saw some of the performers dancing on the street and playing music loudly for all to hear. I hung around the performers till the end of a few of their songs, tossing one of the useless credit cards I had found their way, I smiled and waved at them, continuing on in my journey here.

I didn’t get to explore Rivertide that much when I was here with Juke, getting mildly distracted by the couple and this time, I decided to let Grimm lead me around, since the first time, Grimm had to follow us around. I looked at the buildings, smiling at their decorations and shapes they had.

It seemed like they were celebrating a festival, I could probably figure out which one if I looked at the TD and found the news for Rivertide, but I didn’t really feel like reading. I might miss something rather important going on that would garner my attention.

I stopped by the beach where some of the Dragonkites were, dancing in the air and making symbols with their bodies, flying in each other's loops they would create, or twisting their bodies around each other for beautiful flurries of wings and scales. For a moment, I stood there frozen and mesmerized as I watched them dance together. I wondered for a moment, was this a way of courtship for the species? But I disregarded it, pokemon usually don’t do their courtships like so in front of humans did they?

Not like I could ask the question and get an answer, so I moved on with a hum, kicking up some of the sand against my shoes, and my eyes looking at the soft sand to see what little things were there. Some of the seashells were washed up on the beach, barely covered by the coming tide. There were some pokemon peeking out from the water, and a few that walked out from the water as well.

I accidentally felt my shoe kick something soft and squishy, and glad that I didn’t step on the little creature when I looked down at the thing. It was a Pyukumuku that was washed onto shore with the tide and then couldn’t get back into the water. Grimm leaned his head down to give the little creature a few sniffs out of curiosity. Opal was curious as well and got a little closer, but it seemed the Pyukumuku was getting agitated as the spikes on its back rattled almost and it turned to face us.

I sighed, I had remembered some of the warnings about them, being careful when I picked the little one up, I drew my arm back behind my head and then let the Pyukumuku go with a good toss, watching the little creature fly through the air before landing in the water with a soft splash. Grimm let out a bark as if telling it not to come back, and Opal squeaked, I guess in agreement with Grimm, I couldn’t be too sure.

I turned to look at the two of them and smiled once more, looking away, it was time for us to eat I suppose and while the sandwich place we visited last sounded tempting, I wanted something a little more… well Rivertide-like, what you would expect to find in Rivertide.

“Are you ready to get something to eat Grimm, Opal? How about we explore what restaurants they have here, hm?” I asked them with a grin.

Opal nodded quickly making squeaks in rapid succession, while Grimm was more calm and collected, but gave a gruff in return agreeing with me as well.

Well we finally had something to discover and explore in Rivertide, and that was the type of cuisine their restaurants within the city served.
