Reaver swooped low on Grigori's back, the Charizard spreading his wings and kicking up a dust cloud before landing in the plaza with a dull thud. Reaver pat the pokemon's head, earning himself a grunt, before sliding from the pokemon. He bounced on his feet as he landed, dusting off his pants and looking around for his contact - he was told he'd be meeting someone who specialized in Brookfell and its people here. Typical they'd be late though, very on brand for someone native to the city.

"Took you long enough," Came a familiar voice, and Reaver spun on the spot slowly to fix the woman with a dead stare.

"They didn't tell me it'd be Miss Brookfell herself meeting me," He said with a bored tone, one corner of his mouth pulling down into a frown to hide the smirk.

"I volunteered," Lyra said as she flicked her hair over her shoulder, walking up to Reaver with the swagger he'd come to expect of one of the richest women alive, especially in this city. "Also, if your Cybernetics are damaged or malfunctioning I'm the best person to have on hand. Considering I put them in you."

"You think they're going to malfunction?" Reaver said with a skeptical look and a heavy dose of sarcasm, to which Lyra scoffed instantly.

"Of course not, but other people don't know that. They always assume some kind of fault on the first real mission out of recovery," She shrugged, unbothered by the opinions of simple-minded individuals, apparently. Reaver resisted the urge to roll his eyes, but only just.

"Where we goin', then?" He assumed she had the info because he didn't.

"Lower rings, there's a tunnel system down there we're to look in. My scanners got a ping the other day of a potential high-value Cynic target, so they're sending in people who won't stand out to bring them in," Lyra rattled off the information while walking away from the plaza and onto the streets, so she missed Reaver's pointed look at her attire and general countenance. She stood out.

"You stand out," He had to say from behind her, motioning for Grigori to keep up as he followed the woman. Reaver heard Lyra make some kind of noise in front of him, and his frown deepened into a glare at her back.

"We'll be making a stop along the way, don't worry about me," She dismissed his concerns so easily, just a flick of her wrist over her shoulder like a child asking his parents some inane question they didn't have the time to answer. Reaver huffed, but there wasn't much he could do except follow.

Their unsanctioned stop was a safehouse, apparently, though Reaver was not allowed inside. He was left to wait outside, glaring at anyone passing by as Grigori stood somewhat menacingly around the corner. When Lyra finally emerged she did look completely different, to her credit.

"Does this pass your scrutiny?" She asked though it was clear there was no intent to take Reaver's words seriously.

"So you changed your clothes and splashed some dirt on your face, keep talkin' like that and they'll pick you from the crowd 'n a second," Reaver said, Brookfell accent heavy in his tone. Lyra snorted, but it was clear Reaver was right.

"That's why we're not going to be doing any talking. It's an in-and-out mission, and anyone in our way is dealt with efficiently," Lyra shot Reaver a pointed look, and the man made an 'ah' face. No wonder Rhys wasn't assigned to the mission. The man could handle it, Reaver was positive, but Ethos still had a vision of the prodigal Sterling child, and they didn't like putting him in situations that would tarnish that.

"Right," Reaver said simply, nodding as they were once again on the move.

"Do try to keep up," Was all Lyra said before removing her suppressor, which was always a sight and quite literally jumping into the Brookfell pit.

"Showoff," Reaver said with a growl as he quickly swung up onto Grigori, letting the Pokemon dive to follow the woman. She was agile, he'd give her that. The magnets almost made it seem like she could fly, but he knew better. Lyra darted between buildings as they became scarcer and scarcer the lower the two of them went, and soon enough it was mostly just stone buildings carved into the rings themselves, and Lyra landed gracefully on the ground barely even winded.

Grigori landed less gracefully, but he wasn't a bumbling idiot either. Reaver slid onto the ground, readying the pokemon's ball to recall him when Lyra stopped him with a hand on his arm.

"Leave him, we've got intelligence that they could be using pokemon as well and he'll keep others from getting in our way," Her voice was distorted like this, face hidden behind a mask, but Reaver suspected it wouldn't go over well to have one of Reignsrest's finest running around like some vigilante. He nodded, recalling the ball and motioning her to lead the way. Before they entered the tunnel itself, carved into the rock and lit up by strip lighting along its walls, Lyra tapped her chest and one of her pokemon popped out of the compartments there.

"Keep a watchful eye, Thea," She said to the Raichu, who was much smaller than they should be and zipped around in a Rotom-like fashion. Reaver had seen this pokemon a few times before, but not like this. They were all business now, perching on Lyra's shoulder and doing exactly as they were told for once.

The walk through the tunnels was silent, at least between the two of them. Reaver kept his eyes peeled for their target, even though he didn't know what this supposed Cynic agent looked like. Lyra likely did so he trusted she would tell him if they happened to stumble upon them.

Perhaps the strangest thing was the looks Lyra got.

Reaver was used to getting strange or even wary looks from complete strangers. He just had that aura about him, even before his fusion. But Lyra was almost making him look like a saint if the looks she was getting were anything to go by. People were giving her various looks of distrust, fear, and apprehension - even just regular civilians. It seemed she had more of a reputation than Reaver could have imagined down here.

"Eyes sharp, this is where it's going to get dicey," Lyra shook Reaver out of his thoughts with a sharp warning, and he would have blushed at not having been paying attention if that was the sort of thing he was prone to doing.

"Got it," Reaver said in confirmation since Lyra couldn't see him, going on alert as he shifted his stance and let his hand hover a bit closer to the weaponry he'd been allowed for this mission.

The civilian presence dwindled to nothing at this point, and Reaver's eyes glowed as he looked through the walls to try to find whatever hidden hole they were looking for that housed this Cynic fugitive.

"Lyra," Reaver said quietly, fixed on a point on the wall where he could very clearly see a human-shaped blob on the other side. The feeling he got from the aura wasn't exactly evil, but they were clearly hiding, here. The woman came to stand next to him, looking at the smooth rock surface for a moment.

"Clever little mole," She said softly, reaching out to place a hand against what Reaver assumed was solid stone. After a moment it began to vibrate, and that was all the warning he got before all hell seemed to break loose.

The stone came away like a loose sheet of paper, crumpling in Lyra's hands as the metal sheet underneath the stone was ripped from the wall - exposing a hole beneath. Immediately gunfire ricochets out from the darkness and Reaver had to dive away to avoid it, while Lyra simply let the bullets bounce off the metal plating covering her arms.

"Grigori!" Reaver said, and the dragon breathed a puff of flame into the hole, intending to light it up enough for Reaver to get a shot with his stun gun. There weren't any others hiding in there, so Reaver felt comfortable firing over his shoulder into the darkness after spotting the woman hiding behind the cover, spraying bullets out. A short yell let him know he hit her, but the bullets didn't stop so it was likely a glancing shot.

"Just stay in cover," Lyra said, and Reaver could hear the smile in her voice. He looked over to tell her off and froze at the sight. Her normally calm aura was completely changed, now, and it opened a pit in Reaver's stomach that he didn't like. She was enjoying this, and while Reaver liked a good fight this was something else.

Repurposing the metal she'd pulled from the wall, Lyra formed a larger shield before pushing into the space. Thea zipped into the hole and into the nearest socket, lighting up the room so Lyra could see her target with practiced efficiency. When the magazine of the gun clicked on empty, Lyra threw the metal at the hiding woman, wrapping it around her with a twist of her wrist - subduing her easily.

Reaver stood, stun gun held at the ready, before walking in and looking around. This was clearly just a safehouse on a trail to more safehouses, but there was likely information they could garner here. The woman on the ground was glaring daggers up at them from her little metal cocoon, and Reaver knew she wouldn't talk for either of them. At least not here.

"You could have just done that right away," Reaver accused, glaring at Lyra when she turned to smile at him from under her opaque visor.

"Maybe, but it's good to let them think they have a fighting chance," Came her reply in a tone Reaver didn't much like, though it wasn't like he was about to stand up for another human being, especially a criminal.

"Whatever," Reaver holstered the gun, turning to Grigori to give him a job well-done pat, "Job's done. Cybernetics works fine. We good here?"

"Splendid," Lyra lifted the metal cocoon and Cynic agent with a wave of her hand. Damn magnets. "You're free to do whatever you want. Run back to that little man of yours, I'm sure he'll be happy to know you've not been injured, again." Reaver narrowed his eyes at Lyra, but he knew she didn't mean any harm. She was just. Like that.

Reaver turned without another word, giving Lyra a single-finger salute over his shoulder as he exited the safehouse they'd trashed. He trusted her to get the information to Ethos, as well as their captive.
