No Risk No Reward - NEUTRAL PROMPT | 1347 Words

Cynic is up to something, and Ethos look like they're mobilising to take them on. The authorities are looking for any information on any illegal activities that might lead us to Team Cynic members, and are maybe looking to bring down any Ethos vigilantes who get carried away...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There was never a moment of peace to be found in the region anymore. From the guardians who kept running rampant, the fog, shadow pokemon, Cynic, Ethos- all of them were problematic in some form. Ethos was better by a long shot and if Furi had to pick one, he would pick them- but sometimes the vigilante's within them also managed to find their way onto his radar as a problem.  No where was this more prevalent than within Brookfell. It was a Cesspool of crime and degenerates, the police were almost all but useless and more times than not when something went wrong Furi had to deal with it on his own.

Someone scam him out of a thousand credits for a deal? Track them down yourself, they were probably using a fake name to start with. Someone steal a hovercraft from the shop that was meant for another client? Too bad it's probably already been turned into scraps. While for years Furi had simply handled them as they came, at some point he began to preemptively seek out these criminals. Maybe if he could give them a scare and bring those that the Brookfell authorities did care about to justice others might slow down on their rampant theft. This way of thinking had caused Furiosa to start building specialized mech's that would allow him to go hunting- and in the dead of night he took his newest creation to the streets.

"Alright my baby, are you ready?" Furiosa asked quietly as he nestled himself in the front of a large mecha suit. It resembled a boltund on the outside but was far larger than the normal pokemon. Big enough that Furi could sit in it and be carried around. "Let's go and find you some new prey- let's see how well you perform." He coo'd at the machine as he hooked himself up to it. As he stretched out his fingers he could feel gears clicking together as it came to life and Furi laughed. "Let's go find us some criminal scum~"

The garage door rolled open and Furi bolted out of it, running full speed down into the alleyway and feeling the cold night air rush past his face. A joyous laugh left him as he buckled down further. All his different children had different specialties. Some were built to be impenetrable like a tank, some were meant to shoot projectiles that could stun someone briefly and this one? This one was built purely with speed  in mind and it was a freeing feeling. He needed to get out far to the lower reaches of Brookfell, not far enough to where he'd end up caught in the fog but he felt called to the borders. Something was always going down in that section of town at this hour.

Many nights Furi would go out and find nothing, he'd merely run around the street's and skid across concrete, playing with the limits of his creation but tonight he had a good feeling. He was going to find someone he could bring to the authorities for a reward, and find someone he did. He had looked up to see if there were any stars visible or if it was too polluted by the neon lights of Brookfell, but instead he saw a figure flash on the rooftops. The sight of them made his blood run cold and the Bolthund mech come to a screeching halt under a streetlamp. Ontop of the roof, gliding over the gap between two of the buildings he had spotted them, a known executioner among the underworld. They were a part of one of the mafia's that ruled the streets, presumably associated with Cynic but there was never any clear proof on that specifically. It wasn't Ethos at the very least but they were known for being slippery so no one's been able to properly question his alleigances.

They also so happened to be Furi's mortal enemy and the bane of his entire existence.

Furiosa lost count of how many times he's spotted them but every time they escaped into the shadows and vanished. Gripping the controls of his ride until he was white knuckled Fury took a deep breath.  He was going to get them tonight, he wouldn't let them slip away again.

"Alright my baby, you've got this. Daddy believes in you." Furi whispered out to the mech. "Trial run chasing down that crow masked bastard? You can catch em I believe in you." He believed in his creation, and he believed in himself. His determination would see him through and quickly he ran forward. The figure was heading north, so he too would go that way and catch up with them. Trashcans lined the road alongside a number of steel overhangs from the local shops Furi quickly took note of a path to get to the rooftops. If he kept running in the streets he would never be able to catch up to them as he'd eventually reach a dead end. As such, he needed to get up there. "I didn't test you on your jumping capabilities, but I know I made it so you would be able to." Furi just had to pray it was strong enough to get up there but before he jumped he heard a twisted voice from above.

"Trying to figure out how to get up here~? I think that's a new toy ya got there. Looks fancy! I like it but I don't think it can get up here~"

You know what? He didn't need to get up on the rooftops to catch up with this man, he needed to get onto the rooftops so he can drag them back down to the ground. Furi's pink eyes looked up and he could see them leaning over the edge, watching him and despite how he couldn't see their face he knew that they were looking down at him smugly. They did this every time they crossed paths and it drove Furi crazy. Despite being hunted they looked so casual up there without a care in the world. A plague doctor mask was on their face and a large trench coat covered up the rest of their body, hiding away any defining features of them but their body language still told him that they were currently making fun of him. He wanted to wipe that smugness out of their entire being.

"Oh don't look at me like that. I know you love me~ This is the third time this month we've crossed paths. It's so obvious that you have a crush on me."

Their distorted voice came down and Furi's lips curled up in a snarl. He didn't bother with any response, it wouldn't do anything to talk to some criminal scum like him. He wasn't here to make friends, he wasn't here to flirt, he was here to try and capture them for authorities and that was the only thing that mattered. The Bolthund mech's legs bunched together underneath him to jump, to try and get up onto the first shops overhang so that he could get one step closer to this bastard but as it jumped he heard the sound of something cracking and the sound of it's system short circuiting.

Instead of gaining air and sailing upwards like he had hoped he found himself crashing back down to the ground while the criminal above clicked their tongue. "See? What did I tell you~ I said it couldn't jump. Better luck next time, love~" Then they laughed. They laughed at him and turned to wander off as Furi's teeth gnashed together.

This bastard was going to get away again and while furi wanted to try and capture them himself it seemed that he wouldn't be able to today. Instead he pulled out his phone to contact the authorities. "Hey" Furi didn't want to waste any time. "I heard you guys are looking for Cynic? I came across one of em on the move, heading north. Last spotted right outside the eastern pancham express."
