Wintervale has remained eerily quiet since the fateful day when Rayquaza struck the floating city in a fit of frantic rage. But while silence may suggest peace, the truth is far more complicated. Wintervale’s towering spires and glittering streets have borne witness to a growing number of struggles since the attack. The city, once a bustling hub in the skies, has become a shadow of its former self, slowly descending each day to dock for brief moments—just long enough to accept land deliveries. But Rayquaza’s violent assault had severely damaged the city's landing gear, leaving it unable to make a proper descent. The damage has trapped the city in the sky far longer than anyone dared imagine, hovering precariously as time ticks on.

In a desperate bid to stay airborne, Wintervale's engineers rerouted power, diverting all available energy to keep the city aloft. But this came at a heavy cost: entire districts were left without electricity, and the frigid winter air crept into homes where no warmth could be found. The coldest regions of the city, already on the brink of despair, now face an even grimmer reality. Food supplies, once abundant, have dwindled to dangerous levels, and rationing has become the cruel norm. The ever-present threat of food shortages and power failure has left the population on edge, their nerves fraying as the days stretch on with no end in sight. Tensions are at an all-time high. Citizens, plagued by fear, live in constant dread that the city’s damaged systems might fail completely, sending Wintervale plummeting from the sky.

As if the material suffering weren’t enough, crime rates have surged. Desperation breeds desperation, and with public services stretched thin, law enforcement has become a dwindling force. For many, the city’s fragile existence is a daily gamble—one where even the smallest failure could bring about a catastrophic fall. The darkest fear of all hangs in the air like a storm cloud: what if the lights go out completely?

With Murkhaven lost to chaos and Wintervale teetering on the edge of disaster, it is clear that the time has come to return to the Ice Region. The situation has grown too dire to ignore, and the city’s survival hinges on assistance from those who know the land, the cold, and the ways of the ancient guardians. If we can also uncover the fate of the lost Guardian, it would be more than a boon—it might be the key to Wintervale’s salvation.
Wintervale is close to falling, the city drops by a few inches a day creating a soft rumble noticeable enough to civilians to cause panic. The loss of Wintervale would be damaging to both Cynic and Ethos if it were to crash so it’s time to put differences aside for now.
