WINTERVALE
Name: Wintervale
Population: Estimated 150-200k
City Themes: Purple- Floating Cyber modern Japan
Local Climate: Exceedingly cold and dry. Wintervale is as harsh as its people sometimes.
Blizzards come and go but they have a lot of advanced heating technology in modern homes to combat them.
Local Fauna: Wintervale’s natural fauna was mostly lost when the old city was destroyed,
and plants curated for their appearance were not a priority when moving to the floating city- however, they do care a great deal about their Crystal Willows.
These trees are large and hang their leaves like regular willows however they naturally allow frost and ice to blanket their leaves causing a cascading crystal-gem appearance.
Culture: Inspired by Japanese Culture which is adaptive and technology-oriented.
Like Rivertide they still hold their Traditional values at heart even if it has been adapted over the years to suit a technological lifestyle.
Unlike the real-world counterpart, Wintervale being buffetted by constant freezing winds has left an equally frigid nature in their people, often making them strict and to the point.
Architecture: Despite being ultra-modern Wintervale likes to keep its traditions strong in its architecture. Houses often have Pagoda-style roofing with shrines and statues around the city.
History: The initial Prince that founded Wintervale was as Frigid as the location he chose for his people.
He believed the cold would make them strong if the other cities were to go to war- that they would have the advantage of being used to the cold over any possible invaders.
Blessed by Arceus for his Guardian to be an [REDACTED] they held power over the frost. Years passed and so too did the Prince and his Guardian faded from their post but the people of Wintervale were already strengthened by the cold and their firm traditions. Despite how technologically advanced Wintervale becomes it will always keep its traditional-styled architecture as a symbol to remain strong.
History Since Outbreak: When the nera outbreak happened and the fog that came with it started to rip through the region, WIntervale was not prepared for the increase in blizzards.
They were quite literally being buried rapidly and had to make a call.
It was dumb to evacuate a whole population worth of people to another city that was already in turmoil so instead, they chose to elevate their current position.
They crafted a floating city above the remnants of the old one- a symbol of remaining strong over your setbacks. The city is still not complete to this day and is constantly going through repairs.
The city itself is slowly rising and sinking throughout the day and will meet a port in the ground for a specific hour time slot where heavy-duty vehicles can drop off supplies and the city gets a burst of rapid charge.
Other transport from the city is done with Hover-vehicles or Pokemon.
Wintervale’s crime limit is above Rivertide and Grovehart but not as high as Brookfell. The authorities in the city usually keep petty crime at bay but organized large-scale crime always happens in the background.
Wintervale is known for its shady deals- never make a deal with someone from Wintervale as they will come for you logically and hit you where it hurts.
